There's enough of that to go around, but what annoys me more than anything else are the catty, backbiting remarks I see that seem to have no other purpose than to intimidate...particularly newbies.
Newbies will be the life or death of this forum. It appears to me there are some self appointed cranks whose primary misson on this forum is to bully. I expect you know who they are, but due to internal political entanglements, there's not much you can or will do about it.

If you have to apologize and "make nice" with everyone, you're not a principled Conservative. If you know in your heart of hearts that what you say is true even if you have to step on a few toes, why apologize? It only puts the other person your debating with in charge of the facts (or lack of same) and the dialogue of debate. Take a stand on any issue and stay with it. There is no need to pull a John Kerry and flip-flop and go any way the way the wind blows.

Unfortunately, conservatives can be their own worst enemies. But like another poster on this thread said, I can't sit back and listen to people act like they are conservatives, then watch them bash every single thing about President Bush, thus eliminate him (which is exactly what they are achieving with their rhetoric). We'll end up with Kerry and his ilk if they don't stand up for good decent people like this president and his administration. It was the previous 8 long years that got us where we were on 9-11 and the economy that suffered so terribly from those years too (not to mention the ramifications of the wars and the declining economy when President Bush took office).
So yes, I agree with the premise of your post, but I still gotta stand up for our Commander in Chief and his fight against terrorism, etc. (Which I know you do too).
It would be nice if we could all "unite". But I'll believe it when I see it!
