Yeah, I liked that statement too .. but Jimmy has no idea the dems no long have "essential decency, compassion and common sense".

However, the statement I keyed in on was this: "At stake is nothing less than our nation's soul."

This election in 2004 will set the tone for the direction America will take for the next 40-50 years .. and it appears Jimmy knows it too.

America's greatness rests on a 'foundation of truth'as sayeth the Democrat former president at the 2004 DNC convention.

And who better to exemplify that 'foundation of truth' than the Clintons?

A major reason 50,000,000+ Americans can't stand to listen to Democrats is because they wouldn't recognize 'truth' if it knocked and sat on them.

Jimmah Carter: "In a few months, I will, God willing, enter my 81st year of my life, and in many ways the last few months have been some of the most disturbing of all."

No Jimmah -- the "most disturbing" months of all were still the 48 months of 1976-1980.

You've nailed it! That's pretty much what I was yelling at my TV when he was speaking, except for a couple of things that would get this Web site shut down. If a schlub like that could become President, there's hope for every ape in Africa.

"He is arguably the worst FP president since, well, uh, since, hey, I don't want to put down James K. Polk again."

Drop the "arguably" and you'll get some agreement that Carter was THE worst foreign policy president of the US ever.

I think Polk was a great foreign policy president, however--one of the very best.

"Why are you putting down Polk? He added a million square miles to the US, including California. On second thought...."

Funny, but I KNOW you don't blame Polk for what's happened to California. Also, remember that although Reagan was born in Illinois, it was California that first made him an elected official and gave him the experience that made his Presidential run plausible. California hasn't always been as bad as it is today.

Worst during and biggest muckraker since leaving office.

Carter was there to be the "god" voice for the democrats. His use of "god" was an intentional effort to immunize the convention from all the ANTI-religion that is going to come (and was previewed tonight)

He does not mention giving away the panama canal.

He does not mention ALMOST giving away south america to the commies.

He does not mention his incompetence with the ecconomy.

He does nto mention his incompetence in negotiating with the USSR.

carter represents the FEAR of action that nearly destroyed the USA.

The French socialists hate the USA, they will ALWAYS hate the USA. Get over it.

In 1979, Treasury Bonds were yielding about 11 to 12%.

People who bought then and are still holding, are getting that rate until 2009.
