Tah-RAY-zuh, a media addicted problem (blurb from LA Times DNC notes)
LA Times ^ | July 24, 2004 | Matea Gold

Nearing the moment when he will become the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, Sen. John Kerry has become more elusive to the swelling ranks of reporters who follow him around the country.

Gone are the days when the senator from Massachusetts would plop himself down in a seat in the press section of his campaign plane, his knees propped up against the seat in front of him, and chat for 30 minutes.

On the rare occasions when he visits, he leans in from his private cabin, asks, "How we doing?" and retreats as photographers and reporters crowd into the aisle to hear him.

His wife, however, has not shown the same reticence.

Nearly every time she joins her husband on his plane, Teresa Heinz Kerry holds wide-ranging conversations with reporters, often leaning against the bar in the press section and sipping a glass of wine on evening flights as she discusses everything from the campaign to her children.

An excerpt from various notes from the LA Times. Kerry is going to have problems "with that woman" and the media. this piece begins a little more than halfway down the page; it's the second dateline from sioux city.

She's a complete loose cannon. I hear Portuguese women have a fiery temper. The DNC might have to keep her doped with Gore and Dean.

"I hear Portuguese women have a fiery temper."

You heard right then. I get alot of my temper from my Portuguese grandmother. Mess with me or my family and you are in serious trouble.

The DNC won't have to keep her doped. She does that herself. I've said since the first time I saw her that that ol' broad is on something.

Terazah is refreshing for a change. When she talks there is little parsing of words. A spade is a spade and if it offends the press or political operative, so be it. I am looking forward to the day that Hillary crosses swords with Madam Kerry. My money's on Terazah.

It amazes me how protective of the media our conservatives have become. Teraza told a reporter to shove it. She has been chastised for putting a reporter in his place. If I remember correctly, Cheney called a reporter an A-hole over an open mike and he was praised. You can't have it both ways. Either Cheney was right and Teraza was right or they were both wrong. I tend to favor both of them for having the backbone to express their feelings.

"...often leaning against the bar in the press section..."

Leaning against it? Judging by her public behavior, I think she's been holding it up since it was installed.

What kind of logic do you use?

Cheney was expressing an opinion. Some could argue with it, some could agree.

Heinz-Kerry made a statement in which she used the word "un-American". A reporter asked her what she meant by that word and she denied using it. It was clearly on tape, yet she denied, several times, saying it. When the reporter persisted, she told him to shove it.

If you can't see the difference, sheeeeesh!

She said some of the criticism of her husband was un-American. I leave it to you to decide the issue. Sheesh! It seems to me she was within her first amendment rights. Or was she????

You need to collect all of the facts on this story before taking sides. The only thing that reporter did was ask Teraza what she meant when she used the word un-American in her speech. She then turns around and claims she didn't use that word and then told the reporter to shove it. She did use that word and it's all on tape, so the real a$$hole in this little drama is Teraza herself.

Cheney never called a reporter an a$$hole....Bush did.

Did you watch the video? Apparently not.

She made a speech to the Pennsylvania delegates to the convention in which she decried some "un-Pennsylvanian and, sometimes un-American" comments.

When a reporter asked her what she meant about the term "un-American" she denied, and denied, and denied and denied saying "un-American". When he persisted, she told him to "Shove it". Go look at the tape.

You know, the pro and con of our little argument is ridiculous. It shows how press reports detract from the things that should matter. Is there one issue that matters whether Teraza is an assh*le or not? No!

Hey, I wasn't attacking the pickle queen for her comment....I was attacking her because she behaved like an immature bratt. A reporter was simply doing his job when asking this witch what she meant when she said un-American. He wasn't rude to her....he didn't even raise his voice to her....he was only asking her a question. If she wants to behave like this, especially if she plans on being the first lady, then as a tax paying American, I can and do have the right to tell her what I think of her behavior.

If you don't like it....tough.

Actually, it was the President who referred to the reporter as a "major-league asshole." Cheney simply chimed in with, "Yeah. Big Time."

What makes you think she will be first lady? If she does become first lady your tax dollars will not go to her. The spouse is not on the payroll nor do I think she should be. If you think that she should be supported by tax dollars. Tough. I'm not in favor of it. If you think that she should be censored because she does not draw taxpayer largesse, tough, I think she has as much right to express her opinion as anyone else in the public domain. You want Der Fuehrer to control our thoughts and speech? Tough. You still have to suffer differing opinions from us poor ignorant klutzes until we lose our freedom of speech.

She has been chastised for putting a reporter in his place.

The reporter was doing his job and merely asked Teresa to clarify a comment she know she said, but later denied that she said it, like all Rats do, like all Rats do when faced with questions from non-liberal media sources.

She seems to have a drinkie, drinkie in hand all the time. Oh, well, she's probably just a social drinker. No problem there.

TerAYsa's problem is $3 billion has gone to her head. She's self absorbed, arrogant, and thinks...having said as much a few months back...that if the going gets tough, she'll simply buy Botoxboy the presidency. That's what's wrong with this woman. Plus she's either on meds or drinks to excess...what the Dukakis crowd used to call the Kitty litter problem. (Kitty Dukakis's empties). After he lost, she checked herself into a dry out sanatorium.
