If it's any kind of a racist or anti-Semitic gaffe, the press will close ranks around her. They always minimize the significance of Dem gaffes (Byrd/Clinton/Jackson), while blowing Rep gaffes all out of proportion (Lott). Really. The press just slamdunked a story involving a presidential advisor caught on tape stealing confidential information related to an ongoing congressional investigation. One involving the life & death of thousands of Americans, past & future.
What would make anyone think they'd give a darn about the drunken wife of the democratic nominee?

That's a new one on me. I didn't know it was caught on tape. I haven't seen it but I'd love to. Are you sure about this?
