I tried to google late last night and couldn't.
Maybe they're sweeping all the Shove it!'s off the database.

Note that the virus in question is not a virus on any of the Google search boxes. Google runs Linux and is not succeptable to the many Microsoft Windows viruses out there. This was actually a denial of service attack that was launched using windows computers to attack Google.

While primarily about the tribulations of the new hijackers, there are many links to alternative browsers, antiviruses, antispyware, firewalls, etc. in this post:

Seriously consider alternatives to Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, install an antivirus program and update religiously, clear your temp folders, history, and as many cookies as you can spare. Get Ad-Aware and Spybot, and run them in "custom" mode ( links to how to do this are in the post ) and keep your operating system updated.

GOOGLE runs LINUX
I thought only Microsoft could catch a virus -- NEVER LINUX nor a MAC!
Just proves the point - the only reason that MS was getting slammed so much was because it was the leader (and still is) in OS.
Now that the other have so PUBLICLY gloated over the MS problems, they are now the targets.

I'm not sure why that needs to be "noted", but thanks anyway.

It is kind of an inadvertent DDoS I wonder why he thinks it's inadvertent? Because it will 'tip-off' security folks to the virus? Nah. I look at it more like frosting.

Yep. They're calling it "W32.MyDoom.M" and one of our regional branches got hit earlier today. Downloaded fresh image files. Now no problem.
This one was a petty annoyance.
To: steplock; zeugma
Read up on MyDoom. Here, I'll help:
MyDoom Zeugma - my apologies.

Hate to burst your bubble there, but they were not "Infected", they were being bombarded by search requests from "Mydoom" infected (read MS OS), computers. Different animal all together.

Watch it, you may be right. Just before 9/11 there was a strong worm attack against the internet. The Chinese were behind it.

Um... The virus is indeed attacking Windows computers. It then uses those windows computers as a usefull idiot to slam other completely uninfected computer systems with data.
Think of it as being like democrats using the virus of socialism to cause their nonworking liberal hoards to vote for tax measures that steal money from those of us that do work.

Virus writers targeting google, who'd have thought it.
Is'nt that the place where they find out how to make the viruses?
