"I had an Abortion" - Pride T-shirts Available from Planned Parenthood

NEW YORK, July 23, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - International abortion giant, Planned Parenthood has a line of consumer products, coffee mugs, bumper stickers and t-shirts to spread their message and raise funds. The latest in their 'social fashion' line is a t-shirt for post-abortive women to "assert a powerful message in support of women's rights." The shirt says simply, "I had an abortion."

The world's leading abortion-promoting organization has long striven to undo the stigma attached to women killing their unborn children, but with little result. Despite the enthusiastic support of politicians, rock musicians and movie stars, abortion still has powerful negative associations in the public mind.

The idea of an abortion pride fashion statement has intrigued at least one Canadian journalist. David Warren, a prominent columnist for the Ottawa Citizen responded to LifeSiteNews.com by saying cheerily, "I think it's a great idea." "In fact, I think they should adopt a whole range of slogans. How about, 'I eat unborn babies for breakfast…Vote John Kerry.' Now those would really sell."

The shirts can be purchased online for US $15.00 along with Planned Parenthood condoms, milk chocolate birth control packs, a calendar showing a young woman's tongue-piercing and a selection of "Choice on Earth" Christmas cards.

The anti-fur types thought it was appropriate to throw blood on women wearing fur coats. I wonder how they would feel about that tactic being used on women wearing these tee shirts.

Should read--I am a murdering bitch.

If this murdering bitch ever comes across a line of t-shirts which read "I regret my abortion" I'll buy one for every day of the week.

They even have a section on school supplies for kids. Pens, pencils, notebooks, etc. What a bunch of sickos.

So much for abortion being a "personal" issue!

Excellent point...kind of dispels the myth that abortion has anything to do with a woman's privacy.

Ultimately, this is not just a civic battle, but a spiritual one, too. There really aren't any other words to say about this but, PRAY PRAY PRAY...

Appropriately, the shirt is blood red.

They might as well wear a T-shirt saying, "I'm going to Hell."

They don't seem to understand that those who have had abortions are ashamed and deny it.

Or we own up to it and tell other women about the unending anguish which follows the decision in the hope that maybe, just maybe, one child will be saved.

But that doesn't make up for what I've done. Nothing will. Certainly not a t-shirt.

I think it would even be better if there was a national registry of women who had abortions, so that men could check that registry before marrying one of them.

Look into Operation Outrage.

Funny. My mom, who is Dem and is a supporter of Planned Parenthood, claims that no woman WANTS an abortion and that it's a "necessary evil". I can't see what there is to take pride in if that's the case.

Buy her a shirt.

What's really ironic is how this only further destroys the dignity of the woman who had the abortion. It's like trotting out a freak with a "scarlett letter" hung over her neck. Thing is, the ignorant fool that wears this has no idea that the final joke is going to be on her... I pray that all women who have had abortions would be enlightened to what they've done. No person is beyond God's mercy, but this is an intolerable deepening of the detriment to society...

"I really wish you hadn't done that."

Why? That photo should be in every Jr. High School health book.

If they were really proud, wouldn't they have used larger lettering?

Yes, it should. I just didn't need the sadness that seeing such pictures always brings. It breaks my heart enough just to think that someone would wear the shirt. But I guess that today being the start of the dems convention is a good enough reason to be reminding people what the enemy stands for. Too bad it couldn't be projected on their big screen.
