According to the FReepers who were physically at that game, it the number of people cheering Cheney was far greater than those who were booing.

most of the boos directed at Cheney were because of the long security lines to get into the Stadium that night - many fans missed the start of the game.

I don't know, perhaps the same thing happened here with Kerry.

But it any case, this was a mis-step by the Kerry campaign. Why risk a negative reaction at a venue with unfiltered media coverage, where viewers can see and hear the event for themselves, without having Rather & Jennings explain to them what they actually just heard.
