Vanity ^

Went into a CompUSA in Columbia, MD today and, while shopping, noticed a movie trailer for Fahrenheit 911 running on several PCs and MACs...

"Geez. Some of you people are way too touchy."

In case you haven't noticed, this country is at war. Whose side are you on?

It's time for me to visit CompUScommie, carry lots of expensive mechandise past one of these offensive displays of propoganda, then "notice" what is being displayed. At that point I'll shout out, "What the he** am I being exposed to this propagandistic cr*p for," drop my would-be purchases in the aisle and walk out the door. Mission accomplished.

I'm a computer ass... but I freeped it anyway!!! Here is what I wrote: Please process the following request:

Subject: Farenheit 911

I have just learned in some of your stores you are
running the trailer for the "mockumentary" Farenheit 911.
As a proud American, I refuse to do business with anybody
who, in any way, form or manner supports Michael Moore or
his anti-American trash.

Respectfully yours,

Geez. Some of you people are way too touchy.

Well gee, protesting a business promoting a movie(fartinghigh 9/11) and that makes Leni Riefenstahl's nazi propaganda movie "Triumph of the Will" look like 100% truth, is touchy huh.

I guess you like a dose of propaganda with your corn flakes every morning.

I sent an Email, too. I have bought 3 machines from them this year and need to replace another 12. I let them know that unless the trailer is removed, I won't be coming back.

I have been personally boycotting CompUSA for over five years.

They wanted $140.00 Plus two to three weeks to replace my laptop's keyboard.

I went to a private computer house and left twenty minutes later with a new keyboard, installed at a total cost of $75.00.

I just used your link to leave my message to them:

I was shocked to see that your stores have chosen to show a trailor of a very controversial film, Fahrenheit 9-11, which alienates a large sector of your client base. If you do not remove this filth from off your computer screen immediately, My company will no longer do business with you. Your utter disregard for your clients feeling only shows me that you are more concerned about getting your politial viewpoint out than you are satisfying the concerns of your clients. It's a sad day when retails stores are now in the business of trying to propagandize their political viewpoints to their clients. I for one find it disgusting.

Geez. Some of you people are way too touchy.

The battle lines have been drawn since 2000, and it's decent, God-fearing folks who still believe in America and the traditional values that made this country great, versus hateful, immoral, Hollywood and Democratic limousine socialists who want to impose their goals over the rest of us.

I'm going to carry it all the way to the check-out and then ask to speak with the manager. "Here's all the stuff I was going to purchase......until I saw the leftist propaganda running on your displays". That should get the point across.

Apparently, you're wrong. Why couldn't CompUSA just leave the computer screens blank?

Yes, and organizing a "FReep" of CompUSA would really accomplish much...

Pick your battles wisely.

Geez. Some of you people are way too touchy.

Democrats assume they are free to spread their trash with not so much as a peep of comment from the public. I'm here to say, "No way. Never again. Over my dead internet connection and, when it becomes necessary, body."

Why should they?

If one is trying to sell a monitor, it's best to have something up there to show what the picture looks like.

"I'm going to carry it all the way to the check-out..."

That seems better since there should also be more of an audience. A major part of public Freeping is to let fellow Americans know that there are others who agree with them, but have the guts to actually speak out. One's actions may embolden others to no longer be part of the "silent" majority.

I suppose you believe Mike Boor and his spin on the truth, eh? Guillermo? What is YOUR personal belief about the war in Iraq? For? Against? If you don't reply, I will take it that you are against the war in Iraq.

Really stupid. CompUSA has needlessly polarized their
customer base and probably driven off half of them.

Is the DNC issuing suicide orders to the faithful?

We're seeing a lot of career and business martyrs lately.

And yes, businesses and entertainers are free to turn
themselves into political statement in order to "make
a difference". They need to be prepared for the
difference it makes on their bottom line.

Boycotting CompUSA, by the way, will be no great loss to
anyone. If you've been shopping there, you've been
paying way too much anyway.

There is plenty of non-political stuff they could use for that purpose. Any company that pushes a leftist agenda won't get a dime of my money. Of course you can spend your money there if you want.....it's a free country.

Hey, hey, hey!!!

Whoa! I happen to work at a CompUSA in upstate New York and I can tell you this -- the Micheal Moore thing is NOT run in every store, it's NOT a corporate policy. The discs that they give us to demo have stuff that is suitable for everyone -- things like Finding Nemo, etc. However, the decision to run materials like that is usually left to the discretion of the lead in the consumer electronics department. Maybe there's some lib working out in a store somewhere, of which I have no control of, but I assure you, it's not official CompUSA policy to run any of Moore's stuff. I'll shoot an email to someone about it first thing in the morning, thanks for bringing it to our attention.
