Went into a CompUSA in Columbia, MD today and, while shopping, noticed a movie trailer for Fahrenheit 911 running on several PCs and MACs...
I sought out the on-duty CompUSA store manager and asked him about the trailer and he said they were distributed by the CompUSA office.
I expressed my extreme displeasure that when I go shopping I don't expect to see political messages and (1) I will be contacting their corporate offices on Moday and (2) don't expect me to be seen in CompUSA if they don't remove this garbage.
I'm certain that they'll just say that they get the videos fromsome distributor or something but it's still their stores.

I will be calling CompUSA on Monday to give 'em hell.
Let the Freep-ing begin.
Go Bush...
As a computer geek...I'll Freep this one!
Thanks for the heads up.
Is there an e-mail address?
Thanks for posting this. I just purchased Panther, the OSX upgrade about two weeks ago from Comp USA. Although I have already installed it, I'll go back to the store and confront them about this. Now that I think about it, why not ask for my money back.
Thanks for the information. I'm in the market for a new Mac. I think I purchased my last Mac at one of their stores here in Virginia. If it turns out they have leftist inclinations I'll make my purchase through Club-Mac or some other on-line retailer.
I just sent them a customer service comment on this question. We'll see what they say.
The site is: http://www.compusa.com/contact/contact.asp?type=customer
I basically told them that if it is true, I will not spend my normal hundreds of dollars per year at their stores. I also said that if I did not hear from them, I would assume it is true!
Good for you BFM. I too will write a letter to CompUSA, and tell them that if they don't remove this garbage from their computors, then I will remove myself from their stores in the future. Thanks for posting this. We have to stop Lying, Left-wing propaganda from filling the airwaves or wherever they may be shown. I'm astonished that a Computer Store would go out of it's way to alienate certain sectors of their customer base without realizing that it will affect their bottom line. This hatred for morality and therefore, President Bush has gotten so bad that retailers are willing to jeopardize their profits to get their liberal lies out.
Unless an item is legitimately on sale, CompUSA doesn't offer very good pricing, and their service leaves a lot to be desired. I stopped shopping there long ago. But I will still send them an email expressing my displeasure of their anti-American display of the "Fartenheight 911"
CompUsa is a private company. But that doesn't mean you can't put pressure on their business associations.
Idiots. Half their customers use to be Republicans.
Went to COMPUSA today. We bought our last two computers from them. We have bought parts there. We had it serviced there. We saw the F-911 movie trailer, turned around, and walked out. We have just ordered two Dells (desktop and laptop). I called the store later, and the guy answering the phone didn't care. He said it was a "corporate" decision.
I sent a letter to customer service also/
In Atlanta, we are having a sales tax holiday next week. Computers are the biggest selling item on the tax free list.
I am going to make a big stink if this is corporate-wide
What state was that in?
Geez. Some of you people are way too touchy.
Ditto that. CompUSA sux. They routinely get their tails kicked saleswise here in Silicon Valley.

You damn right we are. We will not patronize any business that support left-wing causes, especially one that supports pond scum like Michael Moore.
