Good article. Worth reading the whole thing.
But it raises an important question: Why does the Catholic Church allow this church to call itself Catholic?
Money.
That is a very good question, and I don't know the answer, only to say that one church I used to belong to was an ofshoot of the Seventh-Day Adventists, and it was called the Church of God Seventh Day. They had a lot of little ofshoot churches, one of whom still called themselves Church of God Seventh Day, but they had their own little community, pretty self-contained and self-sustained. I suspect many churches also have this.
This so totally fits John Kerry, though, belonging to such a church. He IS Catholic, but yet he ISN'T, and he SUPPORTED the war in Iraq before he DIDN'T, and on and on.

Does anyone have a rational answer?
Political correctness crept into the Catholic Church years ago with the Berrigans - remember them? And the Mary Knolls, remember them? Even the Jesuits, once the rock of Catholic and Christian Orthodoxy have strayed into un-Christian (let alone un-Catholic) heretical grounds.
Like their correligionists in the Methodist, Episcopalian and Presbyterian Churches, these people neither represent the majority of their respective faiths on most issues, nor are they in keeping with traditional Christian values.
They have all surrendered in an orgy of political correctness. They have sacrificed the primary purpose of thiir existance - the salvation of souls - for social and political goals which never concerned Christ in any of his teachings.
