Yes she does, resembles all the girlie/klinton looking men. Puffy, hysterical, big oversized gut, those slack rounded shoulders and a twinkie in their mouths. Linda's day is done. Bush/Cheney2004
Once again, the New York Times assumes (perhaps rightly so) that its readers are stupid. This behavior doesn't assume anything of the kind.
Of course, Ronstadt has the right to do that. And everyone else has the right to walk out and to fire her.
Say, by the way, how are the Dixie Chicks doing?
Too many buffets, Linda.
CARB face!
That Linda, she's so trendy.
Man, if that ain't the truth.
Laura Ingraham is right, "Shut Up and Sing." If Ronstadt's audience wanted a political diatribe, they'd be paying good money for Moore's movies.
She probably carries a picture of Brando in her wallet.
Now she's an idiot too. Strike three Linda
Then she returned home to Kalifornia.
Ever hear of or read "Shut Up & Sing! People paid to hear her sing. They didn't pay to hear her political opinions!
HEY NOW! That Nelson Riddle Orchestra carried Ronstadt's lame a$$ on those albums!
So neener.
<|:)~
Excellent post.
Ben Stein's last column nails these tiring hate America Follywooders whose talent has left them, like the fat and ugly Rondstadt!
"The Real Stars - Ben Stein
"The real stars, the ones who keep this country free on Independence Day and every day, are the ones who lead a patrol down an alley in Falluja with some maniac terrorist aiming an AK-47 at their heads. The real stars are the ones who leave their families behind at a dusty Army base and go off and riskand losetheir lives to do their duty by their country and free men and women everywhere.
"They're the ones who go off into Godforsaken valleys in Afghanistan hunting for Al Qaeda, never knowing if they'll ever come back, and often not coming back. Think Pat Tillman and you've pretty much got it.
"There are other real stars in this country like the men and women in Walter Reed Army Hospital getting fitted with prosthetic limbs because a bomb took off their leg below the knee in Mosul, Iraq. Their wives and girlfriends and parents and kids cheering them on are real stars, too. So are the doctors and techs who make the limbs.
"This country could last forever without the billionaire movie and TV stars in the magazines. We could not last a month without the men and women who fight for us. It's high time we got our priorities straight. Those guys and gals in Bagram and Ramadi and Fallujah and everywhere else, alive or dead or wounded, are the real stars, the ones who light up the night of tyranny with the light of freedom. We would not have a July 4th worth having without them. God bless them today and every day!"
To sum up Ben, "America and we will last forvever without the likes of Ronstadt. She and the other no talent porkers from Follywood are worthless versus the realities of life.
Ben wrote this? I always wondered why Ben was SO enamored with Hollywood. He's eternally living out his childhood dreams. At first it was endearing. Now, it's kinda sad to see him in those commercials and such. Does anyone agree with me?
No!

No. Basically you're saying Stein doesn't have a right to work, work where he chooses according to your standards. (rolls eyes)
Hildy, are you aka JoJoe
your M.O. rings similiar.
Gosh..no...I love Ben Stein, I just wondered why he always was so enamored with Hollywood. Probably if I read his columns regularly I would know the answer to that question. Yikes, you guys are sensitive and your particular conclusion about my question was just strange.
Who is JoJoe? Someone who you disagree with?
Instead, I have taken the $4.00 I would've spent on a DVD rental, or the $8.50 at a movie, and put it where it matters -- either toward my own family's sustenance, or toward a righteous effort to directly support our troops (e.g., phone cards), or other group who is accountable and is directly addressing social ills.
When one buys into the view that art/music/science are outside morality, or somehow above all norms, etc., you are just giving up your freedom to choose. I can only speak for our little family, but we don't buy music CD's, so as to not finance these fools, and leave some mental/emotional free time from the inputs to actually THINK.
Excellent:
"I do want to point out that it is We The People who've made people like Streisand, Ronstadt and Affleck billionaires. I've pretty much put myself on a Hollywood fast, because I don't want to continue to finance these people, who work against my freedoms while trying to overreach theirs (like telling private establishments, such as the Aladdin that they can't do what they choose).

Nah, just a mouse between my teeth. (grin)
We know who Ben Stein is, someone you envy. (wink)
