African Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Rome Airport
ROME, July 28 (Xinhuanet) -- A plane belonging to the East African Airways Corporation made an emergency landing at a Rome airport Wednesday, but causing no casualties, the local media reported.
The left engine of the Boeing 767, whose flight number was S9 1459, caught fire just after taking off from Rome's Fiumicino airport to Tanzania's Zanzibar, the report said.
The pilot immediately turned the plane around and made a successful emergency landing at Fiumicino. The plane was carrying 150 passengers and the cause of the fireis under investigation. Enditem Link to Article
