It's SE Asia, the highlighted region in the box is Afghanistan/Pakistan.
Ditto. Obvious and blatant BS from "EOM".
The thing that tipped it off for me right away (aside from the usual things) is the claim of 50 million casualties.
That is OBVIOUSLY way outside of the range of tactical nuclear weapons. 100,000 per weapon is more like it - and that assumes hitting a downtown area on a busy day.
Of course, I've COMPLETELY discounted all of the EOM 'posers' as mentally disturbed idiots seeking attention at this point. The stories coming out of them, GIM and NEIN are laughable in their ridiculousness. ANY credibility any of the three ever had is long shot, IMHO!
That's what's so cool about the TM. People here genuinely care. I used to freak when these warnings would come out. We all still worry but unfortunately, I think we're becoming used to this way of life. I feel that progress is being made in the WOT and I just know things will get better in the coming years (if W is re-elected, that is).
Re: the map
Got it, thanks!
Just had a blonde moment....
freeperfromnj, Don't worry W will be re-elected. This is the most classic case of underlying weakness vs. underlying strength I have seen in a long time. Bush got a bounce from the Democrats convention, it's all over.
I think he will be too. I saw his speech in Pennsylvania on Saturday and he was sure fired up. I was glad to see that he finally dropped the new tone.

(New York-WABC, August 2, 2004) We're learning more about the intelligence behind the federal warning that a terror attack could be in the works. The FBI and Department of Homeland security bulletin issued last night mentions several methods, including the use of fuel tankers. It also refers to the possible targeting of subways.
The bulletin says that while the timing for a potential attack isn't known, the likely means could include explosives in "limousines, large vans, trucks and oil tankers which could be placed in underground parking areas or near highly populated entrance ways In addition, consideration appears to have been given to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) being carried into facilities by operatives."
The bulletin goes on to say that, "Other possible modes of attack are the use of IEDs in subways and other public transport systems in close proximity to these targets. Terrorists use of aircraft as weapons against Homeland targets is another mode of attack to consider."
The security response was swift and highly visible Monday. Until further notice, trucks are now banned from taking the Williamsburg Bridge into Lower Manhattan. The Holland and Brooklyn-Battery tunnels are now closed to all in-bound commercial traffic.
I found some stuff like this last night. When I first came to TM it was because I dreamn't about nukes and a code. There was a name, it was Jassen, in the dream. Last night I typed in Dr. Jassen ended finding a Jassen in Princton, NJ on a Belgium list of Who's Who, Bulgarians on the internet. His hobby was Bas Kitar. I searched that and got a page with Blackdeath Metal music, at least I think it was Metal Music. There was one band called NukeUSA. I also saw one or it was a song referring to the BlackDeath. It was creepy stuff.
Happy Birthday!

Plans for New Attacks Against U.S. Found (E-mails from Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani's computer)
Two AK-47 rifles, plastic chemicals, two computers, computer diskettes, and a "large amount" of foreign currency were recovered from the home in Gujrat where Ghailani was seized. More than a dozen others, including his wife and several children, were also arrested in that raid.
Officials believe the group was making plans to flee Pakistan on false passports. Gujrat is a center for document forgers and human smugglers in Pakistan.
The intelligence official also confirmed the arrest of a computer engineer who would send messages using code words to al-Qaida suspects. Pakistani television reported that his name was Noor Mohammed, but the official said that was just an alias.
Ahmed would not confirm whether the information from Ghailani or the computer expert is what prompted U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge to issue a warning Sunday about a possible al-Qaida attack on prominent financial institutions in New York, Washington and Newark, New Jersey.
Godspeed
BEWARE diplomatic and legally-protected pouches.
My first thought, also.
