Michael Wagner lied about his name.

He told the trooper who stopped him for not wearing a seat belt that he couldn't find his identification.

Then, Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kenneth Haas found a gun, three bulletproof vests, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a flight simulator and a bag of flight manuals dating to 2001.

Haas testified at a federal court hearing Tuesday that he also found a 5-foot telescope hooked to camera equipment, night-vision goggles and a night-vision rifle scope when searching Wagner's sport utility vehicle on July 14 on Interstate 80 near Council Bluffs.

This was just on the LA news. The babies did eat the food, but it was not the weaponized Ricin, it was just ground up castor beans not in large quantity.

Ok, that's good to hear... I immediately thought back to the ricin scare at the Senate in February. That was a weaponized type, was it not?

I know it is not too hard to make ricin of the simple sort, but I guess it is not nearly as concentrated and/or deadly.

Closure at the Port of Palm Beach is huge. If the suspicious containers were strategically placed to damage the ship and its occupants, it would fall under threats made months ago, but evidentally still hot on their agenda.

Iraqi abductors put forward new demand

The little known Iraqi militant group Black Flags which has abducted three Indians put forward a new demand on Wednesday.

The three Indians -- Antaryami, Tilak Raj and Sukhdev Singh -- are among six people taken hostage by the group.

Sheikh Hesham Al Dulaimi, who had announced himself as a negotiator, said the abductors want an assurance from India in writing that the three Indians are poor people who went to Kuwait in search of jobs and are not working for occupational forces.

The abductors have reportedly insisted that the words 'occupational forces' must be used and not allied or American forces. (snipped)

Sydney Harbour Tunnel shut
July 29, 2004

THE Sydney Harbour Tunnel was closed this morning in both directions because of a power failure.

A spokesman said the tunnel was closed in both directions because of a power failure but a technician was expected to address the problem soon.

It was hoped the tunnel would reopen before 9.30am.

Motorists have been advised to use the Harbour Bridge, where delays are expected.

Mystery Deepens About Indiviudals Behind ISP that's A Favorite Of Terrorists

The mystery continues to deepen about a terrorist sympathizing Internet Service provider which uses a maze of false addresses and telephone numbers to avoid detection.

Company officials, who give false contact information in Seattle and California (and now possibly Chicago) are helping Al Qaeda and other terror groups get their message of terror out to millions.

The Internet Service provider Hosting Anime, which hosts a variety of al Qaeda affiliated sites, is a favorite of terrorists.

In addition to hosting messages from terrorists, Hosting Anime sites have been used to provide gruesome pictures of the beheadings of engineer Paul Johnson and South Korean translator Kim Sun-Il.

While company officials have been unwilling to respond about their hosting of the terror sites (other than saying they had a free speech right to do so), an apparent company official named DarkFiles also using the title "System Administrator" commented on Saturday (http://forums.hostinganime.com/viewtopic.php?t=180), (sic), "I personaly do not control the domains, maybe this chat should be held in private. After a quick visit to NameCheap.com, its quite ovious."

He would not say any more.

Checking current Internet registration records showed that the current contact information for both Name Cheap.com and Hosting Anime.com is listed as 8939 S. Sepulveda Blvd. in Westchester, CA 90045. However, the building manager for that address said that Hosting Anime is not located at this address.

Name Cheap.com is an Internet name registration service operated by Richard Kirkendall.

Reached by telephone earlier this month, Kirkendall's mother Irma Hernandez said her son lives part of the year in France and could only be reached by e-mail, but she explained apparent the location discrepancy by saying that the Sepulveda address is a mail drop she rented for her son's business.

A message left at (661) 310 2107, an apparent voice messaging service for Kirkendall, was not immediately returned.

However, Name Cheap has now started its own hosting service; People Host.com. According to the site (http://peoplehost.com/contactus.html), "PeopleHost is powered by NameCheap.com. NameCheap was the parent company of PeopleHost which was founded 4 years ago. NameCheap is a Domain Registrar that is one of the top ranked registrars there are out there. NameCheap has offered its services to over a half a million clients."

The company's contact address is given as 270 Andy Drive, Melrose Park, IL 60160. A call to this number requesting information, (312) 261-5552, was not immediately returned. Neither was a call to (815) 425-8863, an additional contact number.

Further checking of Internet registration records showed that on July 26 2004 a Steve Horrighs was listed as the administrative contact for People Host, and name registration service was provided by Name Cheap.com.

However, on Dec. 12 2002 through Feb. 6 2003, registration service for People Host.com was provided by a Richard Jones of www.scripters.org. This site is registered to Jones with an address in Toulouse France.

An e-mail to rjones at scripters.org asking for information about his possible involvement with PeopleHost.com and HostingAnime.Com was not immediately answered.

Frequent visits to scripters.orgthat site over a 72-hour period took visitors to the site for www.cnn.com. The Scripters site appears to be "parked" and permanently redirected toward CNN.

The redirection is not a recent phenomenon. Visiting the Internet archive (http://web.archive.org/web/20021006075212/http://www.scripters.org/) showed that Scripters.org has possibly never functioned as a site in its own right as it was redirected to cnn.com as far back as Oct. 6 2002.

With no action apparently being taken by the FBI against Hosting Anime, the ISP continues to host gruesome images. In addition to the threats of upcoming terrorism and increasing use of Hosting Anime by radical Islamic groups, two beheadings of innocent victims by Islamic militants have been shown on the free web site pages of www.hostinganime.com.

Citing free speech (and now backed up by a court victory in another case), the operators of Hosting Anime continue to make available at
www.hostinganime.com/iraqnews1/index.html
the gruesome beheading video and still pictures of 33-year-old South Korean translator Kim Sun-Il.

Hosting Anime also hosts a number of other terror related sites. They include:
www.hostinganime.com/gim/GIMfaroq.htm, www.hostinganime.com/neda2/page/new.htm,
www.hostinganime.com/neda3/sout/index.htm and www.hostinganime.com/meshawir/aljhad.html

Pictures of engineer Paul Johnson after he was beheaded are still prominently displayed on www.hostinganime.com/neda3/sout/index.htm, and www.hostinganime.com/neda2/page/new.htm is a web site with the same design and graphics as an al Qaeda site formerly known as www.alneda.com.

Hosting Anime appears to host its terror sites by renting space on the servers of the Houston based Everyone's Internet, which has hosted sites in the past for groups such as the Hamas.

Everyone's Internet has not returned a number of e-mails seeking comment but did generate an automated response in the last few weeks which read in part, "We have received your report of possible abuse of our network resources. The current number of notifications that require investigations limits the number of personal responses from the staff to senders and this might be the only response you receive regarding your notification; however, we do investigate each report."

In addition, when asked a few weeks ago if EV1 administration would respond to an e-mail seeking answers about the company's continued relationship with Hosting Anime, a receptionist said, "If they're interested they will contact you. All we say is that they're unavailable and we can take a message."

America is at a very dangerous crossroads. Not only al Qaeda but also terrorist groups such as Jemaah Islamiah are working on acquiring or developing new terrorism capabilities, including bioweapons. Will we be prepared?
Evidence in an Egyptian terrorism trial two years ago indicated Osama bin Laden may already have access to dangerous biological agents. Meanwhile, the risk of proliferation to terrorists continues growing, with at least eight nations running bioweapons programs, including genetic engineering of pathogens and developmental programs for new production and delivery methods.

Winning the war on terrorism will require our nation not only to defeat attacks with explosives and military-style weapons, but also to be prepared to overcome potential assaults with weaponized anthrax, ricin, smallpox, plague, tularemia, botulism toxin and viral hemorrhagic fevers (such as the Ebola virus).
Just how vulnerable are we to such attacks today? The United States now can fully meet only a handful of the 57 "top echelon" bioterror threats. That's not an acceptable level of preparedness for the greatest power on Earth. We can launch a Tomahawk cruise missile and thread it down the smokestack of a munitions factory from 1,000 miles away — once thought to be a million-to-one shot at best — yet we aren't prepared to deal with the frightening prospect of an anthrax or sarin gas attack against our civilian population.
It's vital that we put our best minds to work round-the-clock on new ways to prepare for a biological or chemical attack here at home. But according to a study published in the May 2004 issue of the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases, only six of 506 drugs currently in development are antibiotics — even though drug-resistant bacteria are a growing threat.
