ugh - I will never register that weasel site. No article for me. The "fair use" censors win another one.

And no, I'm not wasting 50 cents on them tomorrow.

Set aside Republican speculation that former Clinton national security adviser Samuel "Sandy" ...had provided the material to the Kerry campaign...Those concerns, all unproven, are partisan and secondary.

If proved, Kerry is an accomplice.

I have no hope that democrats that are Friends of Bill will be held legally accountable for breaking the law.

Ken Starr and others packed off 13 or so to jail until the media war against the law took place in 1998, culmunating in an historic GOP loss in the House.

Republicans, even in power, have since been unwilling to face the wrath of the media friends of the lawless.

I have NEVER liked Martha Stewart, but why pack her off to jail for lying to federal officials when Clinton did the same thing and got away with it? What a raw deal.

Nothing will happen except the media, getting emailed the DNC talking points, will regurgitate them as if they thought of them.

I'd love to eat those words if he were prosocuted properly for lawbreaking.

IIRC, Colbert King is a bigtime lefty. Despite that, this column is excellent, and really nails the whole thing. I especially liked how he referred to the Dem's characterization of Berger as acting like he's Mr. Magoo!

Did Sandy Berger violate the rules regarding the protection of classified information entrusted to him, and if he did, will he be held accountable for his actions?

No need to read the rest.

On the face of it, and by his own admission, Bergler violated several statutes of the U.S. Code regarding classified information.

Doesn;t matter whether it was a mistake or not.

Do likewise with Democratic suspicions that the FBI's investigation of Berger was leaked to distract attention from the commission's report.

Aside from this obligatory bit of spin, not a bad article.

Here's a thread about Lanny Davis possibly being the leaker:

"Given that Berger walked out of the National Archives with classified material and 40 to 50 pages of notes he had taken, and that he failed to show these papers to archives officials for review before leaving, as he should have, can he be still trusted with classified material?"

The mere fact that this question is asked tells me this is a non issue.

can he be still trusted with classified material?

Why sho-nuf!

I mean ... I mean ... It's only our survival as a nation that depends on it, and we all know that isn't on the Democrat Party's mind.

By burgling, Berger was just trying to insure that Heisenberg's Principle of Uncertainy worked (i.e., the very act of observing something changes its nature - with apologies to WH for taking a little license with his principle :-)

Well, Burglar's attorney on TV admitted to getting this news out before the commission report.

Ans, someone on here mentioned from the report that since footnotes from a MAAR were missing (Mr. Berger, I presume?) they had to rely solely on his testimony.

Sounds like he accomplished his task.

I sort of disagree.

What's apparently happening is that conventional wisdom now says that Berger isn't going to skate for Smugglegate.

So, the the word was passed down that the penalty should be limited to loss of Berger's security clearance. That's what this article is about: keeping Berger out of prison.

Three points: Now we'll see if the W administration and Ashcroft & Company have the stones to indict FatBurglar...

Secondly, anyone who has spent any time in a political campaign knows that FatBurglar was informed that this investigation would have to be "leaked" now! Better to have it come out now than in October. King, Dan "Lefty" Rather et al apparently haven't learned squat about politics after covering it for all these years if they think the Bush campaign would "leak" this now...they would wait until October.

And finally, I wonder how long it took FatBurglar to inform Ketchup that he was under invesstigation...some "security advisor"...this clown has about as much credibility as a screen door on a submarine!!! If Burglar received his JD from Harvard, then they must pass them our like candy over there, 'cause this moron doesn't have the IQ of an ice pick!

Semper Fi,
Kelly

First of all, Burglar did NOT steal the docs...or Change the docs for KERRY....Burglar is a CLINTON man...not a Kerry guy!! Clinton is behind this and to say otherwise is either naive or to throw everyone off Clinton's scent.
