Folks, I saw the interview last night and I suspect Denzel is one of the good guys. (Years ago, the New York Times wrote that Denzel Washington was "rumored to be a conservative".) I think the ex-slave remark didn;t make sense, but I think he was trying to say to Michael Moore that he (Denzel) didn't need MM to tell him about America. Then DW had the guts to challenege Meryl Streep's dopily literal interpretation of the Gospel. THEN, DW asked what is being done for the soldiers coming home from Iraq. You don;t hear any of his Hollywood cronies asking that. And I almost forgot: DW was borderline rude to Katie Couric, which makes him a star in my book. Don;t write off DW, freepers!
I have a question for Meryl Streep regarding her reference from the bible and what Bush should have done, "Turn the other cheek"
So Ms. Streep, should the world turn their other cheek against the atrocities against humanity when,
women and little girls (pregnant ones too) the world over are raped, their genitalia mutilated(Sierra Leon(sp?)), murdered, endentured slaves? Should the 9-11 victims families with fatherless children turn the other cheek? Should the Jews in concentration camps during WWII turned the other cheek? I bet you'd fight for them. Should Lacy Petersons family turn the other cheek. I bet if your daughter(if you have one) was raped and murdered you wouldn't turn the other cheek. You didn't turn "YOUR" cheek regarding apple pesticide alar! Hrmmmm. You and your Follywood ilk DO NOT speak for me or the rest of the USA. WE did NOT elect YOU and your ilk to represent us in the USA or while you are in foreign countries. Do not speak on our behalf. Speak only for YOURSELF. You are not the collective "we".
