The traditional solutions of the Democratic Party ALL involve the embrace of victimhood, what I like about Bush's approach is he is asking them to ditch victimhood, he is not compromising conservative principles by offering them group entitlements.
Two different victimhoods, in some cases: Of race and of economic status. These addictions will be difficult to part with. They may even be more difficult than physical addictions, since there are no concrete steps to take, like swearing off desserts or cigarettes. It will take strength, courage, and constant recognition of small successes.
