To say Michael Reagan is scolding his younger brother, Ron Reagan, as the latter prepares to address the Democratic National Convention next week would be an understatement. We'll let the transcript of a most revealing radio interview with the elder Mr. Reagan, broadcast this week on "Newsbeat" with Blanquita Cullum, speak for itself.

Q: So tell me what's with your brother? Why is your brother, Ron, going over and speaking at the Democratic convention? He's an angry guy.

A: Because he wasn't invited by Ralph Nader.

Q: Oh yeah, very interesting.

A: I mean that's a reality. I think he voted for Ralph Nader last time around.

Q: But you said he never voted for your dad.

A: No, you know, that's why [my late sister] Maureen and I were put on a plane to cancel out his vote and [my sister] Patti Davis' vote. I mean they never have been supportive of my dad's policies ... I mean remember during the '80s?

Q: Oh, I do.

A: He was demonstrating against him and doing all this other stuff and —

I guess when Ron Reagan says he is an "independent," he is even left of the Democratic party. So far left that he voted for Nader. More liberal than John Kerry, #1 lib in Senate. And this is the guy MSNBC promotes as an independent at their network? And people wonder why they don't get the ratings? Viewers aren't stupid.

I thank God that Ron Jr. is speaking for the democrats. I wouldn't want the likes of that clown on our side. I listened to Michael being interviewed when he spoke about Ron Jr. showing no respect for his father. It's about time someone just told it like it is. When Ronald Reagan was honored with a ship named after him, where was Jr? He snears at his father's accomplishments. He is not worthy of being held up in the same forum of his father. I would not want to see him being given any air time by people who admire and respect his dad. Nope. None. I sure do miss Maureen.

A tights-wearing, Nader-voting, girlie-man if there ever was one.

to call him a girlie-man is a stretch. There is nothing manly about him.

Good point. And calling him "girlie" is an insult to girls, as well.

I just want to know when Flaming Ron decided to make his voice sound like Keith Carradine....is he trying to be folksy?

I knew way back when he "married" the old woman that she was just his beard.

Wow. You've got to be a really sick puppy to actually vote against your own father, even if you don't necessarily agree with him on everything.

This guy clearly has even more serious personal problems than I suspected.

So maybe that movie "angry white men" was really about little Ronny Reagan.

I'm sure you'll care at all, but I find that comment really nasty.

Wishing someone dead because they disagree politically is exceedingly small minded (IMHO).

Damn. I'd even vote for my liberal uncle if he ran in my district. We don't agree on much politicswise, but he's a good guy and he's family. Family looks out for one another, or they should.

And I have to wonder about a guy who doesn't have his dad's back.
