SALT LAKE CITY The night after 27-year-old Lori Hacking (search) disappeared, her husband was causing a disturbance at a local hotel, FOX News has learned. Police late Monday night responded to a complaint at the Chase Suites Hotel, where Mark Hacking (search) was running around naked, only wearing a pair of sandals. When the officers realized who he was, they took him to the nearby University Neuropsychiatric Institute (search), where he was admitted as a patient. FOX News has also learned that less than a half hour before Mark Hacking called police to report that his pregnant wife never returned from her morning jog, he was at Bradley's Sleep Etc. buying a new mattress. The owners of the furniture store told The Salt Lake Tribune that Hacking came in about 9:45 a.m. Lisa Downs, the wife of store owner Chad Downs, said the credit-card purchase went through at 10:23 a.m.. Police have said Hacking called them and reported his wife missing at 10:49 a.m. Friends told the Tribune that he had called them about 10 a.m. about his wife's disappearance and said he had twice run his wife's usual jogging route, three miles each way.

Curiouser and curiouser.
You betcha. Weird.
Did this guy study psychiatry for thime he did spend in college? He is putting up his defense already. Cops cannot interview him while he is under observation in goofy ward. He might not have graduated from college, but he is bright enough to spin others while he cannot be officially talked to.
Last week while driving from Salt lake City to Orem on I-15, I drove past the Utah Correctional Complex. A whole bunch different prisons located in the Valley. At least he will be close to his family..
Ultimately, I don't think there'll be much drama to this one.
Prayers for the poor wife and child.
I always buy a new mattress before I haul all my stuff to a new location while moving....(sarcasm)
Strange
I agree. I was just telling someone that same thing!
Well, she's gone, gone, gone
I donno know if I'll cry
donno if I'll die
Livin'!

Yep! Also, not trying out any mattress before buying.
The original story said he woke up and she hadnt returned. Thats two lies Im aware of. See my earlier post for this young mans new residence..
You don't want to miss those mattress sales.
If he'd just gotten a 'Sleep Number' bed from Select Comfort, he wouldn't have to kill his wife in order to get the level of firmness he desired.
He knows he's been caught so is trying for an insanity plea.
A guy could be a compulsive liar, who's embarrassed and covering up for his relative lack of success in life, and his wife could still be killed by a total stranger.
But nobody on earth buys a new mattress just days before moving across the country.
In fact, they should arrest anybody who does that and then go find out what crime he just committed.
I think he was working as an intern in a psychiatric facility--the same one he checked himself into. I'm sure it's just a coinicidence...NOT.
Perhaps there was blood on the old one.
