A BAND OF 14 ILLEGAL ALIEN SYRIANS?!

By Michelle Malkin · July 23, 2004 01:47 AM

WNBC investigative reporter Scott Weinberger reported on Joe Scarborough's MSNBC show tonight that the 14 Syrians on Northwest Flight 327 ALL had expired visas. He said that law enforcement officials xeroxed the men's paperwork without looking at the dates. The visas had expired nearly a month earlier, according to Weinberger.

I doubt it. For some it's all about party before country, regardless of policy....

Good thing I'm not a cop. They'd all be shot while trying to escape!

We have no reason to give these guys a visa to come to the US. We should restrict visas from Arab countries ONLY to Christian, and Jewish Arabs! No Moslems!!!! They should always be suspects!

Thanks for the ping, HJ.

I've had less luck trying to pass off expired grocery coupons. What's going on here? Aren't we supposed to be...oh nevermind. It's already been said.

I do want to say that the passengers had every right to be scared to death. Those musicians (uh huh-like terrorists don't have hobbies) acted in a hostile, threatening manner on that plane.

Agreed. According to immigration laws, it should be difficult for most to obtain a visa or remain after the visa expires.

We would not have as many problems with the hordes of illegal immigrants crossing our borders every single day if it were easy to obtain an entry visa.

However, the laws weren't applied nor enforced for the terrorist hijackers.

I predict in the future, you're going to see passengers on flights telling diaperheads to remain seated or get your ass stomped, while four or five passengers stand around the seated subject until the damn plane lands..

Good idea about the keeping the terrorist-types in citizen custody. If the terrorists decide to change nationalities, then what? Maybe everyone should have to ask permission before leaving their seats.

Ooooh I screwed up royally with DMV on a non op for my dead car. I tried to call junk yards to come pick it up several months before my registration came up due. Well no one ever showed up. I forgot to register it as non op with the DMV, and ended up paying 100 bucks in fines. You have to register it as non op when registration is due. After that, forget about it.

From what I understand, they would have gone after my bank account. It was my mistake after all, but sheesh...

Border patrol agents from the Willcox station encountered a large group of suspected illegal border crossers, estimated to be around 158, just east of the Sanders Ranch near the foothills of the Chiricauha Mountains. 71 suspected illegal aliens were apprehended;

among them were 53 males of middle-eastern descent. According to a Border Patrol field agent, the men were suspected to be Iranian or possibly Syrian nationals.

I have not read through the whole thread, but here are some questions:

When were their visas issued? For how long? Were they all issued on the same date?

Why were 14 of them coming into LA for a one-night gig? They surely aren't THAT popular?
There are certainly other music groups that could have played the venue that didn't require 14 cross-country plane tickets.

Where are they now?

Whoa....I saw the segement the first night. Once the so called experts said the couple did the right thing by being "alert", what the couple "thinks" was out of a misguided lack of knowledge.

These men had been screened prior to this leg of the flight, the FBI let them go after questioning, blah, blah, blah. Security measures were in place.

They all seems to make these statements in a condescending way. Hey pundits, who are the dumb sh*ts now?

Many are putting their little political agendas before country and security. I have nothing but contempt for these types....

"....They all seems.....

I am a stickler for grammar. Ask my kids. "Mom, it's just a rough draft!!!" Sometimes I miss one.

Anyway, the bottom line for these guys was that "the system worked."

Yeah, right.
