Sorry, but the world doesn't revolve around Lance and his bicycle.

Geez. You've invested a lot of font in your mantra. Sounds like Lance is pushing a deep-seated button of discontent on you. Is there anything you'd like to share?

I just heard on the radio that this is believed to be Lance's last Tour de France. Are we then saying Lancey was right to ditch the wife and kids for ONE last bike ride? A race he has won so many times it's taken as a given already?

My first post pretty much covered what I wanted to say. Thanks for asking.

No, we're saying it was stupid his wife tried to force him not to break the record, and stupid of her to leave him to run a elephant paced marathon.

Then you'd lose that bet. The orange-clad fans are without question supporters of the Basque Euskaltel-Euskadi team. The photo in question was taken during a stage in the Pyrenees. You'll note that the shirtless man standing nearby (who appears to be applauding Armstrong and the Italian rider Ivan Basso, by the way) has a Basque flag draped over his shoulders. He's also wearing an orange bandana on this head.

Let's see...what's more important...winning a bicycle race or raising my children...hmmmm, can I have time to think about that one?

Lance will probably race next year for the new sponsor Discovery Channel.

And he quit the Olympics this year (his last great unfulfilled dream) becuase he hadn't seen his kids in 3 months.

There are other BIG euro races besides the TdF........ Also, how likely is it that the team would have been picked up for next year by The Discovery Channel without Lance racing for 1 more year under their jersey?

I thought that was a dude. Upon closer examination, it may, in fact, be a female.

As my brother said after touring Germany...
"I guess our GIs killed of the manly Germans. Except for the their females."

What a guy. Gave up a bike ride to see his kids.

Let's see...what's more important...winning a bicycle race or raising my children...

Lets see, my entire career, livelyhood, food for my kids, roof over their heads, money for their education, and financial security for the next 30 years after I drop out of cycling has depended on my bicycle riding ability. Shucks, I should have spent all these years getting a PHD in engineering instead. At least I would have had job security until I retire........

As a side note, what is Greg Lemond doing for a living these days? or Miguel Enduraine? (sp?)

You give your life to it and ride it for as long as it lasts! There ain't too many cyclists at the top over age 35........

Sorry, but Huck is right. Children are more important than someone's dream. This generation is truly suffering from lack of fathering and have, in many cases, been abandoned--either physically or emotionally.
