,Threats issued after tiger's death Wildlife agency alters dress code
THE ASSOCIATED.PRESS LOXAHATCHEE. Fla. ... The agency responsible for fatally shooting an escaped 600-pound tiger has received at least five death t;hreats and is urging some employees to wear street clothes instead of uniforms. The directive Tuesday came a week after an officer with the state Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shot Bobo the tiger when the big cat lunged at him during a hunt that lasted 26 hours. The shooting set off a public outcry, including criticism from the tiger's owner, former Tarzan actor Steve Sipek. Willie Puz, spokesman for the commission, said there have been at least five death threats since the l shooting, including one Monday from a woman who said Puz I should be hanged, he said. "She said someone should I shoot you for defending the officer and lying to the public [and] that I should be hanging from a tree," Puz said. Although agency law enforcment officers will continue to wear their uniforms, all other employees, from fishery experts I to scientists, have been told to I wear street clothes, Puz said. I "Law enforcement officers! have the ability to arrest some- body," Puz said. "Those biologists or field staff don't." Puz said he has fielded 600 I e-mail messages and telephone calls from people nationwide, with about 95 percent of it critical of the agency's actions.
evading any armed government agency for over three eight hour shifts guarantees that when they do find you you lunged for them or posed some risk to the public, deserving the entire clip. No creature runs up an overtime bill that big without paying the price.
So it would of been better if the tiger killed the guy. Would that of made the people happier. or would the death threats be going to the tiger. HMMMM.
The animal rights wackos would be happy if a human being were killed and eaten by the beast. That's how twisted these people are. If its a choice between human lives and that of a tiger's, I will protect human life every time. People have lost sight of the fact that man is created in the image of God and the lesser creatures are just not on the same plane.
I was always curious-
Did Mr. Sipek bestir himself to assist in the hunt for the tiger, or did he just stay home and wait for it to be found?
Not sure that I would deprive a hungry critter from having a PETAsnack. :)
It's not PETA. It's the local residents. They're nuts. Next time a tiger or lion gets loose in that neighborhood, the game officers should refuse to help
Bowl of milk on the front porch?
They may have joined in, but it's being led by the locals. There must be something rotten in the water.
THEY SHOT BOBO!?
