Wow. You just connected two dots for me. Clarke's book could not ignore Clinton's malfeasance if one or more drafts of his memo reached a different conclusion. Hence, the draft(s) had to be removed from the National Archives.

Here's an interesting and related question: do Berger's cell phone records or the landline records of the National Archives reflect any calls he made during his visits there? If not, why did he lie about making "private" calls. If so, who did he call, and what did they talk about?

Yes, you are right, I knew that. That is much to his credit, but he has fallen in line with many of the coverup artists and outright liars on this 9/11 Commission. He sits by as Gorelick's Wall stands.

Chrissie also had that "secret agent man" peddling his book but he was only shown is silhouette to protect his identity. At one point the "agent" said the CIA was hesitant to act in case they were criticized in the New York Post or The Washington Times. That was when the BS meter pegged off-scale high! Really, would those papers criticize the CIA for taking action or would it be the "New York Times" and the "Washington Post." What a crock!

Lehman says that Clarke's original testimony included "a searing indictment of some Clinton officials and Clinton policies." That was the Clarke, evenhanded in his criticisms of both the Bush and Clinton administrations, who Lehman and other Republican commissioners expected to show up at the public hearings. It was a surprise "that he would come out against Bush that way." Republicans were taken aback: "It caught us flat-footed, but not the Democrats."

Then why didn't we hear you say this loud and clear (outraged even) during the hearing. I considered Lehman the only so called Republican who even cared about the country, but even he let us (the country) down.
