www.archive.org aka wayback machine.

It has copies of websites archived for several years.

That only works *sometimes*.
We had a domain name "hijacked" because of an clerical error made by our domain server and the current "owner" had the cache cleared so that we could not prove, via cached content, any previous claim to it.
Because Google *does* cache websites, we had people still finding their way to our site via the cache but the Chinese "ultrasearch page" kingpin destroyed that possibility by having the cached pages deleted.

That's why I saved the "vanishing file" as "source" and recreated it whole on another host(s)....:)
