Things are slowly changing as more blacks are moving into the upper middle class. They don't want to be taxed to death either. Black leaders like Jesse Jackson, who is a vicious extortionist, and Al Sharpton are not helping matters.
Blacks are not likely to leave liberalism behind as they move up economically. In this they're like to resemble Jews, who live like Episcopalians and vote like Puerto Ricans. Let's just say party loyalty is very difficult to change. And so far blacks have not had a good reason to change to the point where they become a swing group between the two major parties.
