If they started investigating last fall, why do these things take so long ? Either he breached security regulations or he didn't, why should it take eight or nine months to decide ?

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

Sounds like he was a high powered 'sanitizer' sent by the puppet masters to cover everyone's rears.

Addendum: And the DNC can get mileage out of saying the Bush Admin 'leaked' this for political reasons. The LSM is compliant, so they will get away with it for a while.

Eventually, if not already, someone is going to mention something that they are not supposed to know about.

This already happened in an unrelated matter. We have Donald Rumsfeld quick mind and response to a Senator's meandering, rambling question during a hearing several months ago to thank for that.

There's a reason it's taking so long. I was listening to the Hugh Hewitt show this afternoon. I hope I get it right.Hewitt is a lawyer who has worked in the WH and I think the Justice dept.He was saying something to the effect that since the missing documents are the copies, means that more than likely they had notes written in the margin,so the DOJ needs to try and piece this puzzle together(or something like that)tp determine what info he was trying to get.

Did anybody else listen to Hewitt this afternoon and can confirm or clarify what he said? Thanks.

If Berger is indicted, they will have to cover this story.

The ex-national security advisor of America stealing code word classified documents related to terrorist groups operating in America is, by any stretch of the imagination, a huge event.

? - Hmm, I watched both ABC and CBS last night cover the story by saying there was nothing to it and then each had a segment saying what a "wonderful, nonpartisan, amazing man Berger is" -

Last night Aaron Brown had David Gergen on to tell everyone there was "nothing to this story" and it was just "GOP looking to make a little hay of something pretty small" -

CNN also had Lanny Davis (as a unbiased commentator) on to discuss the Berger story - (which again, we were told is nothing really)

The Today Show had ...David Gergan on (making the rounds..isn't he...how convenient) - who again went on to tell on the morning soccer mom's that there is nothing to this story.....Berger is an amazing man....and nothing really wrong was even done...even if he took the documents -

CBS Radio news had a segment on at 7pm tonight which said - there was nothing to the Berger story and NO INDICTMENT would be handed down - according to their sources -

um, didn't get a chance to watch ABC or NBC news tonight....but I'm hardly doubting it was anything outside the above - I'll wait for MRC to report in the morning -

But go check MRC yourself - they as well are talking about the bias being shown in the lack of coverage...

I was at NSA when those damned things came out. The ISO had a FIT with those things! Oh yes, they were banned in short order.

Bill Clinton knew Al Qaeda was operating in America and did nothing.

Exactly and too many people are afraid to say that!

The FBI was called after the employees told their bosses. The idea to mark documents was not their own. Do you think the Feds, already involved in a sting operation, would not have video? Even if only when Berger was in the room? Democrats, believing only eyewitnesses are the evidence, are going to make a lot of statements that will later be proved false.

I'm willing to bet you don't hear hardly a peep again about this Berger Scandal after this Sunday from the national media - It will be deep-sixed -

If they deep six it then WE run with it and they really don't want that to happen. If WE run with it, God knows where it could lead and we won't be "sensitive" about timing. The MSM has a very tenuous hold on their profession right now, glossing over something this serious will sink them with the American people.

I'd be very surprised to find cameras in an area where people were reading classified documents.

I've read or heard 4 reports now that there were no cameras and is no tape or film.

However, those who have set their hearts on that (not you) should remember that they had enough information that Berger has admitted to a lot--thought certainly not all, regarding the pilfering of documents.

" the only reason Berger would have leaked this now is to try and cut off a possible indictment - no?"

No. It is out of Berger's hands. Short of a Presidential pardon, his ass is grass if he did what it appears he did. Believe me, I have no doubt the press will figure out a way to blame this whole thing on Bush. But regardless, this will continue to hurt Kerry until he loses in November, because he just lost a big name from his ticket. Obviously Edwards isn't doing a whole lot to raise his stock.

THAT absolutely infuriates me.

It also infuriates me! It's time for someone to do some hard time! There are too many wimps running our country, IMO! It must be because many of them should also be in jail and they don't want to rat each other out.

I have a feeling the national media is not going to allow this story legs - There are serious consequences here - Kerry involvement, etc - No way do they let this effect the NOV outcome - This story has been deep-sixed.

You have forgotten one real possibility - that this is a Clinton leak.

Bill Clinton admitted that he has known about this for some time. John Kerry claims (and I believe him this time) that he heard about it when we all did. If Clinton leaked it then the reason is obvious - deep six John Kerry rather than the Sandy Berger story and make plans for a glorious Socialist future in 2008 with Her Majesty, Queen Hillary. The media is more loyal to the Clintons than to Kerry and they will go along. This may have been Hillary's first shot across the Kerry (and Edwards) bow.

And Bush can't give him a pardon now and indict others later without it looking very political......Berger cooperating past present and future and then a presidential pardon....Hope he's getting some protection.

If Berger is indicted, they will have to cover this story.

I'll agree with that - but that is why the DEM's (probably Berger)leaked this story - to try and head that off - turn it into a political witch hunt type drama -

And what you have to understand is...the media KNOW who the LEAKER was....so they 90% know it was from a DEM 0r Berger himself....yet they are playing the game and trying to make the GOP look bad -

They did this same thing during impeachment - Lanny Davis would leak and leak (usually small negative things against Clinton out) - and then the media would go along and report the small negative thing very briefly....but then totally go off on reporting how KEN STARR's OFFICE WAS ILLEGALLY leaking information ...."how awful...oh my god..this man is evil, etc, etc" -

Now mind you...this whole time the media KNEW the leaker was a Clinton person - yet they played the game!! - and worse yet...they KNEW STARR's office couldn't respond...because they were under a judge order NOT TOO!

That's what we are dealing with folks.
