We already knew that boxcutters were not forbidden on planes pre-9/11, didn't we? And we know that the hijackers had boxcutters. So it's not surprising that the hijackers would have set off metal detetctors, emptied their pockets, and been allowed to proceed with their boxcutters.
Although it's interesting that there's video we've never seen, this is nothing really new.
Actually, from what I've heard only ONE boxcutter was ever seen by anyone on the flights. It has made it into lore that they all had boxcutters, but all we know is that one of them had one on the plane. But your point about them not being prohibited pre-9/11 is true.
Although at the time, box cutters were an allowed item to be carried, as a screener, I would've hoped that it set off bells and whistles that 5 middle eastern men in a row all had box cutters in their pockets.
I mean, if they had swiss army knives, OK..most men carry those. But how many average men do you know that carry a box cutter in their pocket every day...let alone 5 men in a row.
Yeah, don't all groups of businessmen carry boxcutters with them while boarding aircraft...They are as common as palm pilots aren't they?
The only video that has been shown has been stuff from Maine. You'll see no video from Logan. Why? Don't know. It does exist.
