Wow! You gotta love the www! I might have gone my whole life, sitting here among my velvet pillows, gargoyles, Celtic symbols and Cure CDs (now all exiled to my computer room by DH), thinking I was the world's only Conservative Christian Goth (CCG?).

Great site - bless you MadIvan!

Hi MadIvan! Excellent article and excellent idea for a new site! Where do you find the time? (It's the caffeine, isn't it.)

I would think that the more politically correct and prone to marching in lock-step conformity that the leftists become, the more likely the Goth community would be to reject them. It's a mistake to judge Goths based on their appearance. Many of them do have their hearts in the right place and their heads screwed on straight behind all that black and very pale white.

My youngest sister is a Goth. I attended her wedding in my Renaissance Fair garb; she got married in a Christian ceremony but the theme was Medieval. In a way this sums up Goths like my sister. The appearance of her wedding party may've raised questions and a few eyebrows from any outsiders watching us file into the church, but if you stripped away the "window dressing", the ceremony itself was quite traditional, conservative, Christian... sacred. And, it was fun!

It's true, the Democrats aren't fun anymore. Then again, I suspect they never were. And, you're absolutely spot on. They've stripped the heart, soul, and human essence out of pleasure and turned it into a mechanical function devoid of any spiritual connections, sorely lacking in love, poetry, any true joy... and increasingly lacking in freedom. Real freedom, not the debased, compulsive, hedonistic (as long as it's politically correct) practices that the Dems try to pass off as freedom today.

I think Right Goths is an excellent idea for a conservative site. You've got your finger on the pulse of the Goth community much better than some may think, IMHO. My youngest sister is a very sensitive, intelligent, independent-minded, and sharply perceptive individual; a soul-searcher and a truth-seeker, a dreamer who will not submit to being locked in any box, but also very practical, analytical, and well-grounded. She's a true original. Not the paradox she seems to be, just very complex. She could never survive in the Dems politically correct vision of "utopia". She would be mercilessly crushed underheel.

It's good that you've set up a site that can relay this fact. Not only have you given conservative Goths a place to go, but I think your site may also give some of the left-leaning and politically-undecided Goths a thing or two to think about.

Best Wishes, Kellyliz
