The "authorities checked ALL possible data bases" and appear to have just blown off off this incident based on "no known records"? This doesn't make sense. Not all criminals/terrorists HAVE records...((ya think the tango's are going to use people on the watch list to do a dry run on an airline???))
On the other hand, we don't know what Security/Intel agencies are doing regarding this matter..maybe there are now 14 new faces on the watch list. Security/Intel is NOT going to share their professional conclusions with us citizens.
" at that point, said Mr. Jacobsen, who added that he clutched a pen in his hand to use as a weapon--"
There is something very sad about the mental image this statement invokes.

Move along, nothing to see here.
It's just an isolated incident.

Link to the author's original story were in the Times article.
And nothing further of any substance was added -- perhaps I should have been more clear. Forgive me. Hundreds of words were attached to the link, yet they brought not one thing -- and in fact much less -- to the conversation.
What else needed to have been said about the matter to raise the hairs on the back of your neck??
Nothing. Which is exactly my point. The Times, once again, is a day (or a week and a half) late to the party, and desperate to remain relevant. They believe it's "not news" until "they" say it is. They're wrong. This is just another example of just how wrong they are.
Cheers!

As I posted on another thread, has anyone else on this flight given interviews? A lot of people witnessed this, but these two seem to be the only ones speaking up. How about the people sitting near the guy with the McDonald's bag? Maybe he actually ate the food and then threw the trash out in the bathroom.
I confess to being riveted by the story to the very end, when it was revealed that nothing happened and they were just musicians. Jacobsen almost seemed disappointed, so she had to make the strange claim that al Qaeda doubles as a music school.
Though I don't have the utmost confidence in the FBI, I feel fairly certain that they called the casino and confirmed that these guys were scheduled to play and that they sent an agent to make sure they showed up.

The creeps at the Times couldn't dredge up enough to attack this woman as being a racist hatemonger, so they're having to settle for attacking her for just being paranoid. This despite that absolutely nobody has any idea whatsoever what these guys were up to, if anything.

Syrian musicians. Have any of us ever seen any concert listing describing musicians from the Middle East? If ever there was a flimsy cover story, this is it. I'd love to see them assembled together and asked to play a song.

I posted this not as a debate about how good or bad the NY Times is. It was posted for the CONTENT, about how our "politically correct" methods of dealing with terrorists( or potential ones) are going to get more of us killed.
BTW.....If it makes you happy, I got my posted link off of conservative World Net Daily. Can you please find a diff. bone to pick?

Good for you, I agree. I also know that this writer IS actively looking into why no one can locate this "band" or any relevent information as to what is really going on with these guys. It costs quite a lot of money to fly 14 guys around like this, there is a paper trail to follow somewhere and people ARE looking even if no info is coming out right away.

Thats exactly what should have been done. If their music is mediocre, let them face some REAL music.
