A CIA plan to strike at al Qaeda in Afghanistan, including support for the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance, is given to the White House. Sen. Dianne Feinstein asks for a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney. The California Democrat is told that Cheney's staff would need six months to prepare for a meeting.

The National Security Agency intercepts two communications from Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia. "Tomorrow is zero hour," says one. "The match begins tomorrow," says the other. The messages are not translated until September 12.

What a great timeline on events leading up to 9/11. We do realize that much of that timeline was actually classified top secret in the months and days leading up to 9/11. (Wonder if some of that is what Berger was after?)

If the right people in the right places would have just gotten past the political correctness of not going after Islamic terrorists, 9/11 likely would not have happened.

The rest is history.

So what was up with the Feinstein/Cheney meeting and why would it take six months for her to get in to see Cheney?

Surveillance Tape Shows 9/11 Hijackers Passing Through Airport Security

Video shows how easy it was for five Sept. 11 hijackers to get through the system. Two of the 9/11 hijackers, wearing light-colored shirts, pass through the security screening area at Dulles airport.

— An airport surveillance tape obtained by ABC News shows the five hijackers of American Airlines Flight 77 easily passing through security at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, D.C., in the hour before the flight took off on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
