There's an interview posted on DU saying she based the character on Karen Hughes and Peggy Noonan.

Another person to boycott.

I'm sure you're right, but I am greatly amused that everyone thinks the role is based on Hillary. It must infuriate Streep. Hee.

There was a time when I actually thought Streep was intelligent, insightful, charming and a good actress....

..but that was long ago in the 80's.

Since then, she truly began believing her own reviews...& her ego grew & grew!!
... and she has turned into a rather vicious, sniping, harridan....
... and I wouldn't buy or watch her stupid movies for all the tea in China!
