Ben & Jerry's Meltdown

Ben & Jerry's co-founder inflamed by Bush

By CHRIS RODKEY ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Call it the burning Bush.

The co-founder of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream is on the road, towing a 12-foot-tall effigy of President Bush with fake flames shooting out of the pants.

Ben Cohen believes it is an acceptable way to point out what he calls the president's lies.

"In a polite society, you don't go up to a person and look at them in the face and say, 'You're a liar,'" Cohen said in a telephone interview before arriving in Spokane, the next stop on the Pants on Fire Tour.

"We think it's a lot more dignified and there's a lot more decorum to say, 'Excuse me sir, your pants are getting a little warm, don't you think?'" Cohen said.

I'm suprised B&J doesn't have a 420 flavored ice cream.
It's always 4:20 with ben and jerry.

At 4:25, when the munchies kick in, any flavor will do.

You haven't lived until you have had Blue Bell.

From the Blue Bell web site: In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90% of the nation's population. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with "appropriate ceremonies and activities."

I wish Minnesota were in the Blue Bell marketing area. I guess I'll just have to celebrate National Ice Cream month with anything other than B and J's.

Oh Goodie! I've been on a diet but now that I know it's National Ice Cream month I have a valid excuse to indulge!

You can order Blue Bell for $85.00 for 4 gallons. OUCH!

" A few odds things occurred after they were millionaires.
First they decided to shut down their day care center for employee's kids at the Waterbury, VT plant because it was too expensive.
Then they fought tooth and nail against an attempt to unionize their St. Albans, VT plant and fired some of the organizers. "

Goodness me (sarcasm) they sound JUST like the republican corporations they rail and rant against. Pot meet kettle

A few odds things occurred after they were millionaires.

Don't forget when they were looking for a CEO, and said that he could only make five times more than their lowest-paid worker. Then they changed their tune when they couldn't find anybody to their liking who was willing to accept that pay.

Guess I won't be buying their ice cream anymore either. What a couple of "misinformed" gentlemen.

I hope they have a rocky road....refuse to buy Ben&Jerry ice cream. Plenty of other brands to buy.

Heck just get a home ice cream maker. That's what we did, and I use heavy whipping cream to make ours with--I buy the finest ingredients for whatever flavor we want, plenty of recipes, freshest fruits, etc., it beats anything we ever bought.

Once I made mocha Kahlua ice cream, put it in a mold, hardened it, cut it in little squares to put on top of homemade brownie squares, melted semi-sweet choc chips and poured them over the ice cream and brownies, back in the freezer to harden again.

The recipe made 20 nice little desserts so rich and tasty it was a dietary crime.

Who needs store-bought? ;-D

The ice cream still carries the name but the Leftie Boys have no control over the company anymore.

I would be surprised if Unilever doesn't have a clause in the contract that prohibits Ben or Jerry from taking any actions that would "hurt the brand." Everybody learned to do this after Colonel Sanders pulled a press stunt where he went into a Heublein-owned KFC and told all the reporters they were serving lousy chicken.

Maybe Unilever did have a clause, but it expired. In any case, they might as well re-name the stuff "Lever Brothers Ice Cream" now. Yum yum.

Another self-loathing anti-American Jew.

Phuck him, and make Unilever pay until they force him to shut-the-phuck-up.

His help wanted ad was answered by Clinton's secret enemy - you know, the one he kept covering up.

Boycott Ben and Jerry's! FREEP THEIR WEBSITE and tell
Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield that you will no longer buy their products. Email barrage!

How does Cohen feel about Saddam funding homicide bombers who blow up Isaelis?

slavery, war never solved anything"
