That is astounding! Do you have links to that data? I'd love to share it with a friend of mine who has written about the Florida recount.

I've seen voting totals for heavily black precincts (in states other than FL) that showed 1% or sometimes even 0% for Bush, but was not aware that the Republican registration in such precincts could be substantial.

The precinct registration data is current, not from 2000, but should be roughly the same. A bit of spreadsheet work should prove or disprove PE's assertion.
