Meanwhile over at the WECC Daily status report, they state...."Other Comments: APS has several system problems that may cause outages in the DSW area. The CAISO is declaring Restricted Maintenance Operations for the period 0700-2200 today due to high loads and temperatures across the ISO control area.

OK, so things could get tight from a power standpoint today. Good Luck California! Also good luck Arizona Public Service and Nevada!

Above all remember that that power crisis is all a creation of vast right wing conspiracies and energy marketing companies.

Well it isn't August yet, and California is dancing on the edge of power outages. Of course the fires are pushing things more than they would have otherwise, but still, things are likely to be nip and tuck this August in California.

Sorry I didn't post this earlier in the day.

So in the future, remember to chill your beer early in the day.

If one exceeds one's emissions allotment due to said deferred maintenance, is it still actionable?

The video of the Santa Clarita fire on Fox last night clearly showed what looked like a 500KV line (could have been 230 or 115) surrounded by fire. Obviously, that line had to have been switched out.

I'm not sure why they're acting so nervous. It looks like they've got plenty of reserve capacity, well in excess of even higher than forecast demand.

I've got the A/C cranked up to "blizzard". If we ever want this state to build another power plant, we need to cause some blackouts to wake people up.

Also good luck Arizona Public Service and Nevada!

Did you mean to select the topic "US: Arizona" instead of "US: Alaska"?
