Berger Story -- Dem Talking Points -- It's The Timing of the Leak, Not the Offense!
CNN ^ | 07-20-04 | cww

Posted on 07/20/2004 1:09:02 PM PDT by CWW

Have you noticed the consistent media spin about the theft of the confidential documents by former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger -- "It's the timing of the leak that's curious" -- not the fact that Berger engaged in illegal conduct they may invovle Clinton or Kerry.

I have now heard this spin on CNN radio, Fox News and, of course, the Today Show.

If Berger had been a Republican, do you think the media would give a rats a@@ abouth the "timing of the disclosure?"

That's what I'm thinking...

I love your tagline.

Janet Reno's involved in this, too?

IMO, this is a double cross, orchestrated by no other than the clintons.

It's perfect. Berger is the fall guy, the republicans look suspicious, the Kerry/Edwards ticket crumbles, and a path is paved for Hillary to the WH in 08.

I'd be willing to bet that there is nothing of "substance" on any of these memos.

One giant smokescreen. Sometimes things aren't always what they seem.

Thanks-- but I thought the Top Secret clearance was only good during term of service. I find it hard to believe that one can still claim "Need to Know" once separated from his position. All TS documents, including personal "notes" are property of the U.S. Government.

Oh, I hope you're right....judging from my co-workers opinions, though, "it's the nasty Republicans at work" and they KNOW this because they "heard it on the morning news. It's the Republicans' dirty tricks. Sandy Berger did nothing wrong. He only took his own hand-written notes and maybe a few copies, not the originals. The 9-11 commission knew about this for months. Big Deal".

I'm sickened. Can't wait to go home.

And you'll hear about backup copies. No big deal!

The fact is, even notes taking inside the archive, must remain inside the archive, nothing leaves! And being the National Security Adviser, he knows this all too well!

It is time to place your orders.

I will have the Sandy Berger with a couple of classified documents and a pair of socks. Hold the drawers!

The talking point is SLOPPINESS...

The operative word in every Democrat response is SLOPPY..

SLOPPY, SLOPPY, SLOPPY, SLOPPINESS..

What's really sloppy is he got caught..

SLOPPY THEFT..
That's the real crime..

STEALING CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS AND GETTING CAUGHT..

sloppy, sloppy, sloppy..

Does this mean that Kerry is OK with SLOPPY seconds?

Just ask them how many classified documents they have "inadvertantly" stuck in their pants.

If they try to ignore this detail, laugh in their faces. They know how ridiculous they appear trying to claim this is accidental and no "Big Deal".

Bottomline: If Sandy had stuck these documents in his briefcase the Dems might be able to spin their way out of this as being an accident. Sad, but true.

It is the farce of stuffing sensitive material in his pants and possibly socks that cements this story. Just as evidence of the stained dress cemented Monica in Clinton's legacy. The media cannot successfully divert attention from this farce. The Democrats cannot successfully divert attention to the Republicans as they did with the reading of the judicial memos.

The People will fixate on the "Sandburglar".

His Lawyer is on CNN saying Sandy accidently got some documents in with some of his own personal documents, in leather folders. So he was stuffing them in his shirt, pants, socks and leather folders. And his lawyer is upset this came out before the report. Why? Un-fn' believable.

ATTENTION>>>>>>NATIONAL MEDIA!!!
Are you listening?

We aren't buying it.

The dimocRAT party, as a whole is traitorous!!!
I say this because you hear not one, not one, come out and say they will not put up with this kind of politics bringing down their party. They are antiAmerican!!!

The freedoms you (the National Media) have today will no longer cover your backsides if freedom hating islamists take over our Country!!!

I heard John Gibson on FOX take to task the young fellow Chris a few minutes ago, on this very talking point!

The dims don't need to be able to do this spin any longer.
This is so infuriating to me!! And I hope to others!!!!!!!
