Check out the complete story on the 11 Alive news site.
Johnny Isakson does not sound very sure he will win this thing--or for that matter--even get to a runoff. When asked by reporter Denis O'Hayer how things were looking, he said the following: "We didn't do any polling after Sunday.
O'Hayer: and what did it say?
Isakson: "They told us we're in the hunt so we're waiting for the poll that counts, which is the one today."
Read what you want to in this. Perhaps, Isakson is playing low key. I have my doubts. I think he does not like what he has seen.
2 more votes going to Cain at 6 pm this afternoon, I can't wait to vote!
Go Cain Go!!! Prayers for Herman Cain and Vernon Robinson in North Carolina!
What time do the polls close?
This is incredible. In the last three days, Limbaugh, Hannity, and Boortz have all talked about Herman too. I think he has his name out there enough. I think people like what they have heard. And, I think that his followers are pumped about seeing him win.
I know freerepublic is conservative, but does Isakson not have any support on this site. By looking at the other posts today, Cain is way ahead among FR posters.
polls close at 7 pm EST in Georgia.
I don't know what the polling says, but Cain seems to have a pretty good following down at the corner store, as does Dylan Glenn.
Two more votes for Cain as of twenty minutes ago.
I voted for Cain early this morning.
My wife and I cast our votes for Herman Cain this afternoon.
We really hope that he will win.
I voted for Cain too - about two hours ago.
It seems like Johnny Isakson's internal polls may not be as sanguine as Zogby's poll. Why won't Isakson predict that he'll win it outright today? My guess is that Isakson doesn't think he can get to 50%+1 today and wants to set low expectations to not give Cain even more momentum heading into the run-off. I'm predicting Isakson 46%, Cain 34%, Collins 20% today, and Cain 52%, Isakson 48% in the run-off. GO, CAIN, GO!
P.S. Don't forget to vote and/or take people to the polls. We can't let any conservatives stay home today (except for my aunt, who gets to stay home because she already voted for Cain in early voting last Thursday : ).
It is about time for the Republicans to take back the Republican party, go Cain.
Tonight sure is going to be interesting.
We're raising Cain here in Dekalb Co. GA with two more votes! Methinks there will be a runoff and Herman will pick up some major mo in the coming weeks.
Isaakson doesn't sound svery upbeat about a win today that is for sure. That coupled with the vicious attack campaign the last couple weeks leads me to believe the internals are showing a battle with Cain.
I don't hold out a Cain win today, though I would love to be pleasantly surprised, but I do think that we are looking at a runoff.
The numbers will be the key -- Isakson is known so what he gets today will be approx what he gets in the runoff. If Cain can get close to or past 30% today, he has a very good chance in the runoff. Especially when he can just concentrate on Isakson and not have to worry about Collins attacks from behind.
A Cain-Isakson runoff will allow for the differences between the two to shine through.
I'll vote for Cain just on the basis of his fine-tasting pizza chain.
Does the 'Woodstock' in your name refer to Woodstock, GA? I live in Canton and eat at the Godfather's on Sixes Rd. once/week!
sorry to go off topic:
yes, I live in Woodstock, GA...we eat the Godfathers also occasionally..thinking right now it might be a good place for dinner tonight..
I think there are only three or four Godfather's in Georgia. Used to eat at the one I20 at Liberty road. Best pizza around. But they changed they changed the way they made the pizza and I stopped eating there.
"But they changed they changed the way they made the pizza and I stopped eating there."
True. I recall as a teenager in Rock Hill, SC, that the local Godfather's was a popular hangout with some good video games, but I digress...
They used to make their pizzas by covering the toppings with about a half-inch of mozzarella cheese and had the BEST pizza sauce I've tasted. Sadly, I left RH to go to GaTech in 1987 and they apparently changed their recipe over the past 15 years or so, before I ate there again at their Sixes Rd. location.
Wow - this really takes me back to Friday nites as a teen...eating awesome pizza, drinking tons of caffeine, and throwing quarters into Galaga and Donkey Kong.
[HEAVY SIGH] Those were good times...
...meanwhile back in the GA Senate Republican Primary... j/k
"..meanwhile back in the GA Senate Republican Primary... "
Hey - I did say I was digressing...
