It should be added that Antakya, Turkey is the modern name for Antioch, and the reason why the Patriarchs always take the name of Ignatius is as a commemoration of St. Ignatius of Antioch who was one of the first Patriarchs of Antioch and who died in a glorious martyrdom, executed by the Romans for witnessing to the Christian faith.
His epistles are some of the earliest Christian writings after the New Testament, written in about 107 AD.
