CNN had Jeff Toobin on this morning to basically dismiss the whole incident. No mention or question as to why Berger would stuff things in his clothing. No mention as to why a guy like Berger--who certainly understands the requirements and laws regarding secret documents--would "blunder" in this way.

Toobin was outrageous in his dismissiveness of the theft. He talked as if all Berger took were notes he made from the originals. No mention that originals were taken and "lost."

There goes Jeffrey Toobin's credibility. These missing docs were potential evidence for the 9/11 Commission -- where, I might add -- the Clinton Administration was furiously spinning its anti-terror efforts. With these documents gone, all we are left with is the Spin.

I would suggest that a former NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR does not blunder in regard to handling security documents. There was nothing unintentional about it.
