A and K will be the two votes against the sales tax. They will be outvoted. Of course Drier will win re-election, albeit if John and Ken really fry him, by a fairly narrow margin. But he will have to sweat a bit, and defend himself, and isn't that what the public square is all about? Maybe he will tack a bit to avoid some of the more dangerous waves. Democracy is messy, and loud mouths like John and Ken have made it messier, and I love it.

I am a hard HARD core repub. if john and Ken decide it is drier he WILL lose. And I think they will chose him for the shock effect. He can always run again but folks... California is pissed and we are kicking ass what ever letter is next to their names... I think their needs to be some heads rolling even at the cost to one of our own.

I know this is late but isn't it pathetic how the LA County Board of Stupes voted to place the 1/2 cent sales tax initiative on the ballot? We'll have so-called conservative Republican, Don Knabe, to blame if this thing passes. Knabe bent over for all the liberal city leaders, such as Mayor O'Neill & Chief Batts from Long Beach. He's too afraid to stand up for his alleged principles...proof of that is his proven track record of refusing to endorse solid Republican candidates in local elections. He wouldn't endorse a local conservative for dog catcher for fear that his liberal officeholder buddies would get pissed at him.
