You can pick your nose, but you can't pick your relatives.
Al Gore is a 2nd cousin by marriage. His mom's sister married my mom's brother.

(After 20 years in the Senate, all Kerry has to run on is 4 months of service in Viet Nam.)

Doesn't work that way. You go back 5 to 10 generations, and if you hit the "old country", you are going to find the same couple of dozen ancestors all the way back as far as they have records.
Relationships in the good old days bore no similarity at all to those of modern times where you can have four grandparents, each from a different continent, and your biggest problem at Christmas is whether or not you should celebrate it on the 24th, or 25th, or maybe January 6th!

According to my calculations, this makes them 9th cousins, three times removed.

Excuse me, further verification reveals they are 8th cousins, thrice removed, not 9th. :-)

A billion people having sex, just to produce me? I'm flattered. Theres probably lots of duplications in that tree. In 1,000 years there are more than a trillion ancestors. That's orders of magnitude more ancestors than the total number of people who have ever lived.

talking about spining before the DNC convention.
The media is pushing a propaganda of a "trend" and now the image of Kerry as "same as" GWBush.
So the public should vote "FOR" Kerry because he is like a democrat party GWBush.
How does that affect those who just hate GWBush to vote for the Democrat Party GWBush.

Anne Dudley was someone I recognized instantly. She had relatives go to frontier Indiana to begin operating one of the earliest Underground Railways for liberating slaves from Kentucky.
In fact I know those folks so well we have some of the papers regarding their convictions for violating the Runaway Slave Act.
Good people there ~ the heart and soul of America ~ even if they were a bunch of bluenoses like John Kerry.

What? One of Kerry's relatives did business with the NAZI's and another did business with bin Laden????

Read post #28. I'm not counting indivduals but positions on the family tree. The further you go back the more duplicates there are except for Arkansas.
