BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A senior Iraqi Defense Ministry official has been assassinated near his home in southern Baghdad, in the latest of a string of attacks on Iraqi officials, a ministry spokesman said on Monday.
He told Reuters Issam Jassem Qassim, a director general in the ministry, was killed by three gunmen at around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Are these people taking defensive measures or do they think they live in suburban Aurora kissing the wife in the morning and hopping in their car?
Time to place these brave political men and women under a protective umbrella until the chaos from the killers can be addressed. They will have nobody left that will serve and that is exactly what the nutball clergy want.
