Every time I try to post a picture, the picture shows
up in the preview but when I post it I get the redX.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Agree completely. We have a LONG ways to go before the threat of Islamic fanaticism is defeated.
Too bad we have people like Kerry who put their own personal ambitions ahead of the preservation of civilization.
Thanks!
Hartford CT Outage
Power has been restored to Hartford with the exception of a handful of buildings.
Was caused by an explosion in a manhole. They are still searching for the source. Telephone and power were both knocked out. 911 system was on backups.
Traffic lights are still on the fritz, but other than that, all seems back to semi normal.
I want that on a bumper sticker or a window decal for my truck. Anyone know where I can find one?
AWACS has a top mounted dome

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A sport utility vehicle exploded in a parking lot at Nashville's largest hotel, killing one man inside. Authorities said they suspected a homemade bomb was involved. ...
I don't know whether it's worth mentioning here but Nashville's nickname (other than Music City) is "Athens of the South". There's a full-sized replica of the Parthenon there. I only point it out because of the Olympics being held in Athens this year and I have family in Nashville who I have generally considered safer than myself since we are just outside of DC. Aww, it's probably nothing. The guy probably just wanted to commit suicide but didn't want it to be something ordinary.
What pic?
Thank you.
Just got on board- trying to catch up with you all. Any horrific updates? Heard on Fox this AM we may be considering blockading Iran....wonder how the Russkies would respond to that!
Early Bird
There has been a small makeover to one of Washington's best-read publications.
The Pentagon Early Bird, an electronic compilation of that day's defense reporting, no longer leads with the top stories. Instead, Larry Di Rita, the Defense Department's chief spokesman, has ordered the staff to first list that day's corrections as listed by the major dailies.
Aides to Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld say the not-so-subtle shift is a message to reporters that the Pentagon is increasingly aware of what it considers the bent by the press to write inaccurate stories about the administration.
On Monday, for example, the Early Bird reproduced a correction in the New York Times. The Times conceded that it erred in reporting that the White House had not disclosed previously that some of President Bush's Air National Guard records were destroyed when they were converted to microfiche.

I tend to agree. I see NO way this could have been kept secret----unless there was an enormous effort made not to upset the populace. Can you imagine the people streaming out of NYC if they knew a nuke had been found in the city???
The explosion occurred late Tuesday about a half-mile from the main entrance of Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, and about 200 feet from a day care center, which was closed, said Jim Cavanaugh of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Police said the blast was felt miles away, and it left nothing but a shell of the SUV.

Can someone please post the list of cities in the US that are top terrorist targets?
Thank you!
Then again---imagine the MASS PANIC if it got out that a nuke was found in the city. People would be cramming onto the trains and busses. Traffic would be backed up all over the city. Businesses would be closed- even the stock exchange. People would do whatever they could do to FLEE. There would be mass chaos.
So it could be possible that the nuke- was discretely removed, with no mention to anyone. (except NEIN)

Just put the exact URL location and name of the pic in between the quotes. Also, delete the 1 space I put after the < sign and the 1 space before the > sign.
Then there was this little incident this morning. This is the fourth such incident in less than 24 hours.
DOWNED WIRES CAUSING DELAYS ON NEW HAVEN LINE
POSTED: 11:48 am EDT July 21, 2004
UPDATED: 12:42 pm EDT July 21, 2004
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Overhead wires were pulled down on the New Haven Line in New Rochelle, causing big problems for the Metro North Railroad Wednesday morning.
Some 20,000 commuters were affected when the downed wires caused the suspension of service through New Rochelle in both directions.
Metro North spokeswoman Marjorie Anders says the problem began at 8:30 a.m. when an empty train going to New Rochelle to pick up passengers got snarled in the wires when it changed tracks. The wires and the pantograph arm on the train came down.
For the next 40 minutes, nothing moved from New Rochelle, forcing Metro North to stop 17 inbound trains and five outbound trains from New York City. Amtrak also had five trains delayed. The trains were delayed at least 90 minutes.
Anders says one track was restored at 9:10 a.m., allowing Metro North to move southbound trains to New York City through the area. Northbound passengers were provided buses from Mount Vernon West to Rye.
Beginning at 10:10 a.m., Metro North began running hourly northbound service between New York and New Haven. Hourly northbound service from New Haven to New York is leaving New Haven at 59 minutes after each hour.
Anders says the railroad hopes to have at least one more track back in service for the afternoon rush hour.
