Anti-semitism in France is rampant. The French government can react in one of two ways: First, by facing the problem head on, rooting out offenders and their supporters, punishing the guilty, standing by the (Jewish) victims of violence, and making it clear that hate will not be tolerated.

Or, second, to just pretend that there's no problem, and to act shocked when Sharon suggests that there is.
