Sonoma, CA (Sports Network) - Dale Earnhardt Jr. was hospitalized after an accident during a practice for the American Le Mans Series Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma left him with minor burns on his face and legs.
The 30-year-old superstar was flown to the University of California-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for precautionary reasons and treated for the burns.
Earnhardt's 30-minute practice session ended when his Chevrolet hit a barrier in turn eight of the road-racing track and caught fire. Earnhardt exited the car under his own power before being assisted by safety crews.
Earnhardt was scheduled to race in Sunday's race with veteran road racing driver Boris Said, but the accident forced the team to withdraw the car from the race.
This is a partial NASCAR ping list. Does one of you have the whole list?
