A U.S. Marine from northern Virginia is among the latest American deaths in Iraq.

Military authorities say Sgt. Krisna Nachampassak was from Burke, Va. He died last Saturday, after a vehicle accident.

Nachampassak graduated from Lake Braddock High School. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

His family is Buddhist, and his parents have set up a memorial shrine at their home.

Nachampassak was 27 years old.

Nothing but respect for Sgt. Krisna Nachampassak - But I've always felt that it was terribly ironic to be in a combat zone and die in a vehicle accident or other wasted way of losing your life.

This is the opinion of a Marine combat vet - it has nothing negative to say about the Sgt, but simply if you have to die, let it be with glory and honor.

To die in battle is a warrior's call.

May his family find comfort and peace, and may his shrine never be without a candle...

Thank you for posting that, dandelion.

A total of four young Marines were killed in that accident. It is heartbreaking and somehow I hope their families are comforted knowing these young men served honorably and well.

I post these articles to give faces and names to our Virginia Marines and soldiers who give their lives in service to our country.

No ones life is wasted when sacrificed for a noble cause. This young man is a hero to me as I'm sure he is to his family and children. I thank Sgt. Nachampassak with all my heart and pray for the ones he left behind.

I meant no disrespect, as a Marine I honor this Fallen Warrior.

I was just lamenting the way he died.
