Iranian people never chose an Islamic Dictatorship - read your history. The Mullahs killed off tens of thousands of Secularist Nationalists to take that position and install their dictatorship.
Further, If we want to play games about what people did thirty forty years ago we can also say things about the Germans, Greeks, Japanese, Italians, and virtually every other country in the world.
The Iranians have been screwed for decades. First with Mulsidic(sp?, then by the Shaw and now the Mullahs.
I never said they chose a dictatorship. My point was that they chose ISLAM. And I believe 90% of the people at this *conservative* website would agree that if democracy was handed to them, they would NOT give up Islam. It is akin to someone wanting to be free of AIDS, but still practices homosexuality. As long as Iranians embrace Islam, they will reap what they sow. If the Mullahs go, then Islam has to go. End of story.
