There is a large fire in the Santa Clarita Area of Los Angeles County....if you are in SoCal, that is the very large smoke clouds to the north.
Follow the ELF / ALF / PETA / Al Qaueda groupies - and I bet you find the source of many of these "wild fires"!
I believe John Edwards was in that area today.

Disney Ranch sets being threatened
Sounds like half a dozen helos on either side of the 14 freeway. How long til they close it (or is it already)?
Nevermind, just read #4
There are power lines down across the 14....sounded like a dozen helos when they read them off a while ago...
Yeah, I meant to say half a dozen on each side. Are you on the same 118.9500?
Downed live power lines. Yikes.
they ordered at least 100 fire engines that are trying to get into the air...all stuck in the backup....
Oh, man. What a cluster. I missed the 1630 FM break and KNX won't come in for some reason. Is the media all over it?
I am sure the 5pm news will have it..KNX has some talk show on....
I have TOO MUCH scanner traffic...heehee
You mean hugh fire
I meant AM break, duh. FM up here is bad.
How's the three points fire going? Last I heard there were 2000 FF on scene and it was only 43% contained last night (when the winds were calm, unlike now).
Just near there trying to play paintball (a few miles south). The smoke clouds were unbelievable...looked like they were getting ready to crest the hill.
The last fire in the are was in 1962 so there's a lot of fuel...100 degree temps...probably goes on for a week unfortunately.
KNBC says the new fire jumped the freeway at Placerita Canyon. That's the big dip.. wide open space area. No closures on I-5 yet. The fire went from several acres to a couple thousand in a matter of hours.
Bush fires in So. California. If there wasn't, I don't think the sun would come up tomorrow.
Recent Visible Satellite Image (note smoke in So. Cal)
It's right north of the interchange, on the north side of the freeway..pushing northeasterly. Toward the community of Santa Clarita.
I just saw footage of those helicopter pilots. Those guys are IN SANE.
Wow, in the last hour, my visibility has gone further and further into nothing. I can't see anything in the distance any more (previous visibility was 10-15 miles). Smells awful too. I feel terribly for Santa Clarita residents.. right in this fire's path.
