Slim-Fast returned my call this morning and reiterated that Her Raunchiness definitely has been fired, but pre-recorded programs containing her commercials will be airing for the next two or three weeks. The stations do not go into their programs to cut out the offending commercials so we'll have to ride it out for awhile.
But what was even more interesting was the astounding number of hateful calls received by Slim-Fast objecting to Miss Vulgarity's firing. The rep I spoke with said she actually dissolved into tears at the hate and vulgarity expressed ... callers were saying that this was entirely a Republican partisan action. The more Slim-Fast tried to explain that it was public outcry that was responsible, the more verbal the callers became. Slim-Fast then had their representatives refer such calls to Marketing so the reps wouldn't have to deal with the offensive remarks and insults.
The rep and I had a short discussion regarding Her Raunchiness' interpretation of free speech ... this young lady said she kept an e-mail in front of her that clearly defined Miss Vulgarity's right to free speech (I'm sure it was written by a FReeper) but that WG didn't understand she was responsible for the consequences of that speech. The rep went on to say that Woopi's been fired ~ by Slim-Fast and not by Republicans ~ and they're glad they took that action ... they'd do so again.
Lest we get a bit complacent, this call reminded me that whatever is accomplished on behalf of our beloved country, the vicious element will cede no ground. Keep praying, and keep FReeping.
You should post this as separate vanity thread and ping us when you post it.
This is great news!
Nice going....thanks for the update.
Great response from Slimfast. The opposition ALWAYS turns nasty. It's their nature. Thanks for the update.
