After reading article after article about lab secrets going missing, I kept wondering about our leaders and why nothing was ever done about it. On Lou Dobbs..CNNfn...I finally got the answers! It turns out that the University of California oversees the Lab and has since 1940! No wonder the thing is a fiasco. Now the only question I have is why isn't someone appointing someone else to oversee the Lab?
There have been an awful lot of comments about the length of the contract of the University which runs the facility. Its almost like you can't fire them or terminate them. Even if there is a personality clash...they simply move the individual back over to the University for a couple of years, then bring them back to the lab.
