Bush would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to notice what's happened on the southern border. He's not. So why the silence? Because it's scary as all get out to think murderous fiends are invading along with 90 per cent of Mexico and points south. The economy might tank. He'd lose the election. So what to do? Quietly put tech stuff in place, including the use of the Predator plane, night scanning devices, increase manpower, infiltrate enemy cells, and maybe bring back the draft. Once the election is over, I'd expect Bush to do more overt stuff to seal that border. The country can't afford another 9/11. And we sure can't afford President Kerry.
And I'd expect you're going to be very disappointed after the election.
If Bush is reelected somehow, he has no more intention of securing our borders than Kerry does.
Nobody pressured Bush to remove the National Guard from our borders before or after 9/11.
Certainly not the Republican base.
Bush removed our troops from the borders all by himself.
As far as our elitist politicians are concerned, everyone important has Secret Service protection or can afford to hire their own private security.
The rest of us are expendable.
Problem is, there is probably a good chance, according to intel, that they will hit during the conventions. Again, if it's determined/discovered that some of these infiltrators crossed from Mexico with little effort, there will be hell to pay, and the current administration would probably implode.....
He would have been wiser to do all this good stuff after 9/11. That mistake lost him lots of support from conservatives.
